One day I ran out of my tinted moisturizer. It was actually discontinued. So, I began the hunt online to find the holy grail of tinted moisturizers that was good for me and the planet. Turns out, it was not an easy task.

My first thought is always to Google, so Google I did. It led me to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep website. I was dumbfounded with loads of technical information about the scary ingredients that are found in many products and no good way to get at the products I was looking for. I started doing research on the cosmetics industry and, as it turns out, it’s highly unregulated. Then on top of this, there is “greenwashing“. I thought I was doing the right thing by purchasing products that say “All Natural” or “Organic”. Turns out many of these claims are unfounded and while I consider myself pretty well-informed, I had no idea how little I was paying attention to the products I put on my skin every day.

So, as someone who has been producing and marketing websites for over thirteen years, I thought why not put my skills together with something I love to do — research! All while doing a little bit of good. It was a no-brainer win-win-win.

And that is how Kind Eye™ was born.
