Did this as a test for prom, I love how it's not too over the top, maybe I'll do this again for a regular day out. I'll see. It's a lot more effort than it looks, haha. I didn't end up going with this look though, I went with more dark green than black.

This was my manicure from Chinese New Years 2011 and the most heartbreaking thing about this picture is the fact that while I was taking it, my mom was outside on the sofa writhing from a horrible headache. Soon after I got my perfect shot of the manicure, she called for us to get an ambulance and we did; that last the last night that I ever heard her voice and she passed away soon after. It's a sad memory and obviously not one for a website like this but I just wanted to share the sad story surrounding such a vibrant and cheerful manicure. Might've been a bit too personal but I stumbled upon this picture while looking for things to upload and I just had to include this one.

Sally Hansen Time to Shine. Sheer-ish coverage and brush strokes can be seen sometimes but I like it all the same. It's a really nice brown-ish version of Luxe. It's really sparkly which I like.

Oh I miss the days where my nails were so long and pretty. This is another Sally Hansen color, it's called Pacific Blue. Isn't it gorgeous? It's a nice creme cornflower blue. It isn't as purple as my picture display it but it's still lovely none the less.

Love this color. The formula / coverage is horrible, it takes like 5 coats but I love the final result so much that I go through with the torture and the pain. It looks like the universe is on the bed of my nail. Gorgeous.

I searched everywhere for Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure but I'm glad I found this less expensive dupe instead. This is Nubar 2010 over a regular black nail polish. I adore it. It's the best flakie I own. It flashes red, orange and green when over black. Love love. I'll have to layer it over other colors soon.

I love glitter. This is just so... beautiful. So painfully beautiful. It's a dark purple with holographic glitter in it. Nubar Purple Rain. The coverage and formula is good but even if it wasn't, I'd still love it.

I wore this to my homecoming dance at my high school. Every year, I try not to succumb to teenage peer pressure and wear trashy clothes. Ahaha. I love this. It is China Glaze Passion, love the gold on its own but I especially love it as a background color for my faux-nad stamping.

Can I just say, love. Love. Love. Love. It's a purple-y / burgundy color with gold shimmer. Oh my gosh, it's freaking gorgeous. It's from ORLY's Mineral FX collection. I love ORLY's collections, they always seem quite interesting and unique. In case you didn't catch my joke, it's called Rock Your World.

Nope. It's not. It's a dupe from Revlon called Facets of Fuchsia. It's a dark / black jelly with lots of suspended chunks of bright violet glitters. They come in two sizes, the standard small specks and the slightly larger hexagonal pieces.

Another one of my loves from ORLY. This is Halley's Comet, obviously there are a lot of dupes for it. OPI Catch Me in Your Net and Zoya Charla but I found the ORLY one first so I'm sticking by this. Plus, ORLY's bottles are bigger. Haha. Cheap? I think so. I think it's from the Cosmic FX collection a couple years back but my Ulta still sold / sells it.

Luxe. From ORLY. It's a foily gold, it's not chrome at all (sadly) but I love it all the same. It reminds me of Passion by China Glaze but it's not as warm toned. It's like a silvery gold.

I'm way later but this was my Halloween manicure for 2012. I used mostly China Glaze and Wet N Wild. With the dash of Konad and E.L.F. I hate how the orange pumpkin looks so bad, it's WnW's Sunny Side Up. Ugh, not opaque enough! ): -- I should've inverted the colors (orange nail, black pumpkin). Oh well. Then I had China Glaze Ruby Pumps (it doesn't look like its usual glory sparkly self right?) with a spider + web stamp and a matte top coat from E.L.F. Then, I used China Glaze's It's Alive (Halloween 2011 collection) on my ring finger with a black bat stamp and last but not least on my pinky is E.L.F. Purple Dream. Even the guys thought my nails were cool!

My obsession with rainbows. haha. I love this manicure. Not all of the polishes are truly linear holo or even that strong but I love it all the same. Thumb (Digital), Index Finger (3D), Middle (Hi-Tech), Ring (Cyberspace), Pinky (Hi-Res).

My first magnetic nail polish when the fad came out a while ago. Ugh, I have a hate / love relationship. I keep wanting to buy them but I'm just terrible at applying it! I used a thin coat under and then applied a thick coat to use the magnet on. I think I'll forgo the thin coat under next time because this polish is pretty darn opaque.

Ooh, I love me some holographics! You have no idea how big of a nail junkie I am. Ahaha. The formula on this is easy enough to work with. It's not too thick or too thin. It's not super sheer either, complete opacity is not hard to achieve and the holo on this is strong! I love it. If you're a holo lover or just getting into holo, this is a must-have.

I always overlook the creme finishes because they don't stand out to me but oh gosh, I love this one. It's the perfect spring / summer nail polish and come on, almost everyone has heard of this nail polish! It's a beautiful Tiffany blue creme and the formula is easy to work with.

Dark gray with a strong linear holo, what else can I say? I'm in love. I just adore holos. It's one of my favorite finishes in nail polish. I mean, look at it! What's not to love?! The formula is pretty good and easy to work with and it's definitely opaque enough.

Sorry for the tip wear! I forgot to take a picture earlier. This is my first DL nail polish. I was lusting after Chanel Peridot for a while and this seemed like a golden version of that so I bought it. Trust me when I say this is gorgeous and expensive looking! Well then again, it was pretty expensive at almost $20 a pop. Oh well. Worth the money. Now, I just need to go get my hands on Chanel Peridot. I'm still eyeing that one.

I used both Essie nail polishes that I had lying around unopened. I have "As Gold as It Gets" layered over "Coat Azure." I do have a picture of Coat Azure alone so if you're interested in that, go check that out but I really love this combo. The gold flecks are not obnoxious or obvious but it stands out beautifully in the sun.

I decided to be funky and attempt to do a pastel rainbow. I didn't really have a dark enough powder-y pink to substitute red so I went with just red. Oh well, I liked it, it's kinda cute. Haha. Ironically though my manicure started off cheap with Wet N Wild on my thumb and index finger to a bit more expensive with Sally Hansen and then China Glaze For Audrey and then finally OPI on my pinky finger. Coincidence? Yup.

My first Essie nail polish. I only still have like 3 but I'm getting there. Haha. My step-mom actually picked this out. It's a powdery blue that I didn't really like too much but she did so I bought it anyway. It has tiny silver microshimmers and well, it's opaque enough for 1 coat but 2 certainly can't hurt. I actually really like this, it's demure and cute. I would've never had this one if my stepmom never picked it.

This is ORLY Royal Navy, I think it came from the Peacock collection, not too sure so don't quote me on that. Haha. It's soo pretty. It has a lot of little sky blue glitter specks suspended in a dark navy blue jelly. Adore. Adore. Adore. The formula isn't hard to work with, it's a jelly so it goes on sheer. I didn't try layering it but I don't think I need to. I love it on its own.

I love the intensity and look of Ruby Pumps by China Glaze but it makes me feel so promiscuous whenever I wear it alone because it's such a flashy red color. I feel like Hester Prynne from the Scarlet Letter. ;~; so I put it under black. I must say I love how this turned out!
