Nails

I used a mixture of craft glitter and glitter nail polish to achieve this look. I applied a bass coat of clear polish and sprinkled some super-fine coral mix craft glitter over it. I finished off the nails by applying two layers of silver glitter nail polish too add more texture and a stronger shine finish! Voila!

Back to basics here with nail style I wear most frequently, classic black! I filed my nails to a simple short, straight shape and buffed really well to make sure the black looked simple and slick, not trying to make a statement with these nails. Honestly, I don't think I will ever stop going back to simple black nail polish!

Love these foil nail wraps, SO easy to use and totally transform your whole look in only a few minutes. My first Ombre Nails post - NANU NANU Nails! (tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBTUzybE5Io) My 'Alien-Pop' band NANU NANU did a big gig in the UK last week and I created these outer space inspired nails especially for the occasion. I used four different nail polishes for this Ombre effect, a base of plain black, followed by a dark iron grey from about a third way up the nail which I blended into the black. I painted the top third of the nails in a light silver shimmer which I blended with the Iron grey and then I dusted the tips with some loose silver glitter. I used a clear based glitter varnish (in silver) as a top coat to seal the loose glitter at the tips and bring the whole nail together by adding a twinkle all over. Everybody loved these nails, they really stood out at the gig and I will definitely be doing them again! Hope you like em, GF x

These are my Blackberry Nails! (TUTORIAL HERE: http://www.beautylish.com/v/rurwnm/blackberry-nails-glitterface-tutorial) I used 5mm rhinestones (plain black) on a base of black nail polish to create this look. Everyone keeps saying they look like blackberries which I guess it's fitting since Autumn is fast approaching! But these nails are literally the most twinkling nails I've ever had, they glitter from a mile away. Perfect for Glitterface when we're gigging with Nanu Nanu, the stage lights make them go crazy! GFx

This is a really great nail polish from Barry M. It's black with tiny glitters, I topped it off with a extra sprinkling of micro-glitter and a top coat of super shine from Sally Hanson. Simple and easy galaxy nails with no messing around :) GFx

Ok so I missed Pride, but it's never too late to throw in a splash of colour so here is my interpretation of the gay pride rainbow flag! I got this awesome multicoloured rhinestone pack from an e-bay seller in Hong Kong and I decided to go with a base coat of black polish to give the colours so depth (in low light they look like that dark rainbow sheen you see in a puddle of petrol!) Hope you like 'em! GFx

I found these cute little red heart shapes in my jewelry box and thought they would be perfect for nail art so I made this simple look with them :) I'm not one to get all mushy about Valentines day or romance in general, but this I could manage! GFx

I made these outer space inspired nails using the water marbling technique with 3 colours (dark purple, bright purple and a holographic silver) I embellished with 2mm rhinestones of the same colour variety and then finished with a coat of clear silver glitter polish. Hope you like! GFx

It was requested a while back on my tumblr (http://therealglitterface.tumblr.com/) that I do a 'Raspberry Nails' look as a sequel to my 'Blackberry Nails'. I thought it was a great idea so I gave it a go! It took me a while to find the right kind of rhinestones that were rounded on top instead of being angular like most rhinestones. In the end I actually found these in a wedding invitation suppliers! haha, you just never know how or where these things will pop up :) I also went with my natural nails for this one, I thought it would look cuter. I did these nails for the launch of the Electric Picnic 2013 festival to make it feel more summery ;) They're a mixture of an ombré design with two NYC polish colours, with a sprinkle of glitter towards the tips of the nails and then exaggerated with gold and red rhinestones falling from the glitter to the base of the nail. They were rockin!
