Hey ladies, so I really want to buy living proof's "full"line. But I can't find if they test on animals or not. Does anyone know? Thanks!!

Yes. They are. You can check their Facebook for more info. They were featured as a favorite on the Cruelty Free Beauty Blog called "My Beauty Bunny." It is a highly respected and informative blog devoted to finding cruelty free solutions...without compensation from any companies.

Their website should have a frequently asked questions section. Sephora carries the line. Information regarding testing is often in the "about" section beneath the product.

One more question, do you know why PETA doesn't have them on their list and why they aren't certified as cruelty free? I got a response:
"Thank you for contacting us! None of our formulations in development or finished products are tested on animals, nor do we ask our suppliers to test them on our behalf. If you have any other questions, please let me know!"
So then why wouldn't they market as CF??

Possibly because they purchase ingredients from a supplier who does. The wording "finished product" may be a legal way to share that they do not participate in any actions themselves...as a while. "We do not ask our suppliers.." This statement infers that Living Proof is not seeking out tests, but a supplier might. I know in some counties, the government chooses the manner in which "Finished Product" be used, but the "not request" is something I've never seen before.
Very odd. :/

I trust Beauty Bunny...who only uses products that are completely cruelty free. Perhaps she can provide insight on their response.
As a company, they do not test, but it is odd that PETA not acknowledge them. Their listing may need updating. Did you check their list of companies that DO test? Peta usually lists those that use byproducts or suppliers that tests...even if it is a parent company. Hope that helps.

PETA doesn't include every single brand that is cruelty free. Many brands choose not to go through the process that PETA requires to be included on their list, but the brand may still be 100% cruelty free. Another list to check is LeapingBunny.org which also has a list of Do & Don't Test Companies, some of which are not included on PETA's lists.
As far as I know, Living Proof does not test, but it's been a while since I've emailed them.

Yes, THEY TEST - THEIR RESPONSE TO ME TODAY:
Thank you for your inquiry. Our policy is as follows:
Safety is our top priority and we use the best and most advanced tools to achieve that. We do not test our finished products on animals, nor do we ask our suppliers to test them on our behalf.
Thank you,
Living Proof"
In other words, once evertything is formulated they no longer test. Which is why they don't talk about it on their webste - why they are not rated as 'Cruelty-free' with Peta and why I won't be buying their pricey products again... Try Daily Beauty for Wildlife or Angel en Provence!!

This was so helpful, thank you all! I have a sample of Living Proof that I was considering testing for my blog, but now that I know they aren't cruelty free I'll donate it instead.

(Super late) Another reason why some brands don't have the signature bunny on their packaging is because that little bunny cost them a lot of money.
