Environmental Working Group is not a reliable source of information. They have a very clear agenda and frequently spin information to suit their needs.

Yeah I was going to say the same as Emily. I frequently see them not only saying good things about FDA disapproved products, like a small lipstick brand that was almost 90% lead and had no good ingredients in it, but they also bash products that are completely safe, even some vegan products that have like 5 ingredients total. And they contradict themselves all the time. "___ is bad" three weeks later "___ is so good for you, it does x, y and z for you".
Personally, I think if you're worried about a product I would just google the ingredients you're unsure about.

My husband doesn't approve of some of the information they put out and said its great to use as a starting point but to at least continue with further research before writing off a particular product/ingredient. The other derms in his office don't even resort to that site when assisting patients.
