Concealer Application Question

I use MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer as a tinted moisturizer by mixing a little lotion in it because it dries so darn fast! And to top it off, I use my fingers to apply it, which doesn't help the whole "dries quickly" dilemma.

My question is, what kind of brush should I use to apply this product for a more even, not so rushed finish? I wanted to invest in either a beauty blender or a stipple brush to apply it, but I wouldn't know where to start.

And, a damp beauty blender wouldn't affect my primer, right? The whole "water + makeup" thing doesn't sound so fun.

I've also done this when I don't want to wear foundation or for a more natural look. I usually apply it with a damp sponge. I have a real techniques sponge and that works just fine (:

I was looking at that sponge, it's so much cheaper than the BB and looks easier for me to use haha. Thank you!

If you're looking for a more natural finish, I would definitely suggest investing into the Beauty Blender, and then using it damp of course (just make sure any excess water is squeezed out well, and you shouldn't have a problem with it). I've personally tried out a lot of the BB dupes before purchasing the real deal, and although they were okay to use, in my opinion nothing comes close to the original. I understand it's quite a bit of money to shell out on a makeup sponge, but I can assure you that it is worth it :)

Since it drjes quickly, I would suggest a damp sponge.

Thank you ladies! I'll do more research on which one to get. I just like the shape of the RT one more, but everyone raves about the BB.

I personally like the dupes, like the RT and Soho ones..although, I've never tried the BB so I can't really give a comparison.

Having tried the BB and the RT sponge, my RT one is my HG sponge! Re-hydrates very easily, super simple to clean, and I really like the versatility of flat surfaces, round surfaces, points and edges, as opposed to the BB's simple roundness with a taper. And of course, the feeling that if something happens to it, you're not stuck shelling out ~$25 for a new one is great :)

Water is only going to give you a little more dry time, I agree- ProLongwear is a lightening fast drier, lol! I actually love using a little Rose water on my tool to blend it out and give me time and smoothness. 😁 (Rose water because it's good for your skin and inexpensive and makes me smell nice haha!) A BB is a great tool, but a package of triangle sponges are great to have around for when you don't feel like washing your blender (or for working on others of course) I also love the Real Techniques domed shadow brush for concealer especially buffing under the eyes, it's great! I just don't know why they don't sell it as a single? It's only in the purple handled pack. But, it works well (wet or dry too!) with PLW, and a BB is really worth it!😁

Erica, thank you so much! And in should definitely look into something like rose water as well, my face has had some bad rolls of the dice regarding acne and pigmentation. Plus a nice smell is always nice in Florida!

I'll most likely splurge and get both the RT and BB sponges. I love sponges. Now I'm
wondering why I don't have these already!

Good luck Maria!! Oh! Here's the Rose water, what a deal!! But one of those little purse size empty perfume sprays, fill it and be happy during the day!! Three bottles for $20!!
