Okay so I got really bored of my red hair and decided to dye my hair 'intense copper' using Olia Garnier, shade 7.40. Basically my baby hairs are still black, my roots are ORANGE and the rest of my hair is red/copper. Freaking outt what can I do to tone down my roots?? How long until I can use another dye?? HELP please. X.

I would go to your hair dresser, they would know what to do.

This is probably bad for your hair, but whenever I decide I want to go something other then black and it turns out badly I just dye it all black to cover over the mess since it comes out one solid colour every time.

I believe that phenomenon is known as Hot Roots. By any chance is that color a "high lift" color?

It would be a good idea to talk to a professional and see what they recommend. At least talk to the employees at Sally Beauty Supply and get their recommendations.

Box dyes are just awful. There's no such thing as one-fits-all hair coloring, and box dyes usually fail for this reason.
