Coats And Boots

My friend told me she wants to buy a new pair of boots and a coat that suit her style. And I always come here when she wants style advice haha :) (You girls know the best ;) )
She always wears black, and sometimes very very dark grey :P. Skinny jeans and band tees are what she usually wear. She is medium height and weight. I am just asking for which looks she can go for, I don't live in America so I am not able to buy some of the brands you suggest :(

I'd go for a peacoat, I have a navy wool one and it's my baby. Really versatile and never goes out of style so it's a good piece to invest in.

For boots maybe she'd like doc martens there are a bunch of designs. I agree with Becky J for a peacoat

I live in Turkey, I don't think there's anyone from my country here :(
She has a peacoat in dark purple and I was thinking something little bit more edgy.
I like Stradivarius, Bershka and Pull and Bear here. I know that they are Europe brands but I don't know if there are any in US.

I would definitely go with Docs for boots! I love mine, well worth the price and last forever!!
