What are you currently using and what are the benefits of your foundation?
I've been using my Revlon Colorstay foundation for over a year now and I am really looking to try new foundations. I also have the MAC Pro-long wear foundation also but I don't really like it. I find that MAC foundations make me oily fast. A few of my friends have told me to try MUFE foundation but Idk. Looking for something that has full coverage and something that isn't too dewy.
What do you recommend?
I'm currently using a combination of foundations depending on what my day will be like.
Out running errands I'll use a drugstore brand - either CoverGirl or Maybelline, even Hard Candy and Rimmel London. I have to mix colors in order to get the right shade though.
A combination of Illamasqua Light Liquid foundation (LF115) and Maybelline Fit Me (#110). The former is one of the few foundations that matches my skin tone, but the latter has better coverage (at least IMO).
I usually only wear powder but for my liquid foundation I wear Clinique Even Better in Ivory. I have reviewed it as well, just use the search window in the upper right. I love it. I love Clinique! xoxo
MUFE HD foundation is amazing! I just ran out unfortunately and can't afford to go buy more (it's $40+). The downside is the pump...because when you run out, there is still product in the bottle. I had to unscrew the bottle and dig in there to fully use the product. When I went to Sephora the woman put it all over my face so I could be sure I loved it. Always ask for that before you buy a high end foundation.
I think thats why I've stuck to drugstore foundation for so long. 40+ for foundation for me is way too much but I have been looking at the MUFE foundation for months now and I will probably give in the next time I am at Sephora haha.
Hi :D
I always had trouble with foundations in my early years...I've got really "changing skin" sometime dry, sometimes oily..
This was such a crime because i really did always like the feel of a good coverage on my skin as far as foundations go to notice im wearing it and even out my complexion but without the wear-off that would happen a few hours after with some of the brands I tried due to my silly varying skin!
So i did a bit of research and went for Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.
The coverage is insanely high in consistency of the fluid but at the same time flawlessly light in feel and applys literally like an airbrushed base when using a brush.
The shades are really well matched too to suit many skin colours.
Don't be put off by the weight of it on your hand if you try it, it really is suprisingly light on the face..shockingly because the coverage is so dense.
Hope this helps, as Yasmin says you should totally try out some testers, make up counter girls are awesome for helping out.
I would never look back.
(Check out Youtube for some reviews and tutorials on it, see whether its the look you want. One of my favourite gurus is a big fan of it, Imogen Foxylocks. She hasnt really changed her foundation from this since she started a few years ago so shes wearing it in all her videos (sometimes uses maybelline mousse underneith) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e46N... is an example really!)
Sorry if i waffled on a bit hehe!
Im not endorsed by either of them honest, i just talk a bit too much >_<
I've gotten a couple samples of designer foundation in the past and I hated some of them. Totally did not work for my skin lol. I will have to look into that estee lauder foundation your talking about. Thats totally what I like in a foundation. Full coverage and feels light on the skin.
I use clinique also....works pretty well I must say! I to have trouble finding foundations because of my oily skin....I struggle with my makeup at times! However the foundation that treats me.pretty well and is long lasting is clinique and a great foundation primer!
I am currently using three different foundations. Usually for the day I use Bare Minerals. I'm kinda of on the fence about it. I've noticed that in the summer when I sweat my face starts to itch a bit. Anyone else have that problem? Anyway at night I use Nars the "sheer" line or Lorac. I don't like the feeling of heavy foundation on my face. If I had to choose I would go with the Nars. I haven't had any complaints. they have a variety of colors especially for women of color.
I use different foundations depending on what I plan on doing that day. My favorite high end foundation is Make Up For Ever Face & Body. It has really nice and buildable coverage and doesn't feel super heavy when I have it on.
I switch between my MUFE HD foundation for warmer, less windy days. When the weather is bad my skin gets dry so I use my Chanel Vitalumiere which is perfect.
well I am a SAHM, who doesnt drive, so I rarely leave my house, mainly because of my husbands work schedule. So if I am just playing around, or fell like wearing it, I will use up my older MAC foundations which are studio fix fluid, and studio sculpt foundation, they are the wrong color for me so I need to use them up, but my current favorite foundation, is Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, I love it. Not incredibly long wearing, but definitely a stapple, I have MUFE Mat Velvet + on my christmas list.
I've always had trouble finding the perfect foundation. I'm very picky about the lightest coverage and the absolute perfect match. I bought maybelline fit me sone months ago and I love how perfectly it matches my skin tone and looks like its barely there. But recently after some nights out with flash photography I realized it has spf 18 as I looked really bright in pics I was super disappointed. So I asked for a sample of the MUFE HD and its amazing! Even in person I was told it doesn't feel like anythings on my face! So I decided to buy it (I had a beauty insiders coupon so I did get it slightly cheaper). I'm super excited to use it!
MAC Studio fix fluid (NC35) and set with MAC sheer Pressed Powder (NC35) I had a hard time with foundations and my oily skin too. Foundations will oxidize on me and it was horrible. Until found this combo. It is Medium-Full coverage. Just use a great primer! All I need is less than one pump to cover my entire face. I've been on the same bottle since February 2010 I still have a lot more to go. I usually alternate with MUFE Mat Velvet+ (35 Vanilla) This would be my second go to foundation. Still a good Medium-Full coverage, keeps you matte. I set it with the MAC Sheer Pressed powder (NC35). I also keep blotting papers with me to help control shine through out the day and a MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation with me at all times, but i hardly use it. I have found that with these foundations combinations I have am able to achieve a natural look using medium-full coverage foundations. I dont like dewy foundations becuase it emphasises my pores on my already oily skin.
I have heard reviews that the Revlon Color Stay and how it is very comparable to MAC Studio Fix Fluid. I have been wanting to try it but I hessitate when I see a drugstore foundation cost $10-$15 w/o a pump and no tester available. I have tired to do research on Revlons website to find a shade matcher but no luck :(
I have been using the face and body foundation latelly. IO think it is better than the studiofix foundation cause it makes the finish more natural and my skin turns less oily. The MACs face and bosy foundation seems to be the perfect match to the chanel loose powder. My favs these days.
I use Estee Lauder Double Wear in the Spring/Summer, but I recently purchased MUFE HD foundation for winter and I am LOVING it so far! The HD doesn't feel quite as light on the skin as my DW, but the difference really isn't all that noticeable. I've used Revlon Colorstay, and I have to say I've noticed a BIG difference in the feel of that as compared to the higher end brands. I've always found Colorstay to feel quite heavy on my skin.
I use Lancome Tient Idole, its awesome because its light and has great covering power. I use Lancome's dual finish as a powder but it can also be worn wet for fuller coverage. Both have lasted me forever, so its worth the money. The lancome counter will give you a dram to sample the liquid. I'm not a fan of MAC, the only products I have from them were gifts, I will never spend money on a makeup line that has no skin care products, that just shows how much they care about the health of your skin.
I've been using MAC Studio Fix Fluid set with MAC Studio Fix Powder for about 4 years now and I absolutely LOVE it. The coverage is medium-to-full and looks totally natural and flawless. My skin is super oily and I don't have a problem with oxidation at all. It's one of the few foundations that doesn't darken on me. I've tried so many different foundations over the years but this is the best combination for me.
On clients I've been loving the new MAC Matchmaster foundation. The finish is similar to Studio Fix, but not quite as full, so it's great for those who don't want or need that much coverage. I also find that they love how it looks and lasts on the skin. For lesser coverage I mix with a liquid luminzer or moisturizer; for more coverage I mix with a bit of concealer.
i want to try mufe's mat velvet + but haven't yet. i currently use covergirl smoothers liquid make up. it gives light to medium coverage and is really moisturizing without making me oily.
i have combo skin but i use a primer under the foundation. it still moisturizes even though my primer is mattifying and i don't get dry, cakey skin

i'm currently totally obsessed with chanel. I'm loving both the perfection lumiere and the vitalumiere aqua...so much that I can't even choose one over the other!
They feel like silk going on and I love how radiant they make my skin look. I have incredibly dry skin and I NEVER go for matte foundations, but the perfection lumiere works for me. I was honestly really surprised, I was sort of excpecting to hate it because it was a matte finish but I loved it. It is matte but it is somehow still very luminous
Currently I am wearing CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua. I love that it is your skin but way better. I love that it looks as beautiful in person as it does in photographs. Which is something a lot of other foundations kind of lack. They look great in photos but look mask like in person. It is a light coverage foundation. My best friend used the MUFE HD foundation and it is a medium to full coverage foundation. It literally is just like the name suggests so you can see no flaws on an HD TV (shows everything) so it has to be a pretty full coverage foundation. But she ended up returning it because it felt so heavy and thick. I honestly tried it but found it way to heavy for my liking as well. I have a few favorites other than the CHANEL and those are Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation it is dewy yet not over the top and has amazing coverage. I also Love Lancome Teint Idole. That one is a bit more matte. But still has great coverage. I think it all comes down to your skin type, application techniques and finish.
