Hi! recently I noticed my hair looks brittle/no shine when I skip washing my hair and the dry shampoo seems to make it worse. is there an alt I can use to refresh my hair on skip days - my scalp doesn't produce a lot of oil.

Maybe a little coconut oil? I know it works great as a deep conditioner I don't see why you couldn't use a little just for some sheen. 😊

I find Coconut Oil great for hair masks, but for just a hint of shine, I prefer Apricot Oil or Argan Oil...and just a hint. For fluffing up hair between washes, a tiny bit of Got2B hair powder applied directly to the scalp, then lightly rubbed is great. Perhaps it is the kind of dry shampoo you are using. My own favorite is Matrix at the moment.

Baby powder works well. A light later rubbed in well and brushed through should help.

Arrowroot powder (found at the healthfood store or ethnic market) or cornstarch can be used in a pinch, or silica powder ("HD setting powder" if you're fancy, available at TKB Trading at wholesale price if you don't like being scammed by MUFE). If you have dark hair and notice that these powders tend to leave a light tinge, mix in some cocoa powder (unsweetened, or you'll attract bugs). Or just get a volume powder from the store, they come in a handy little sifter jar.
You can get an oil mister from World Market, Pampered Chef, Sur le Table, Williams-Sonoma, etc. and use that to spritz an oil of choice on your hair for shine. Or you can just buy a shine spray at the drugstore for a couple bucks, most brands make one.
