Everyone wants longer, fuller, flirtier lashes, but they don’t have to cost a million bucks! For a product that only lasts around six months (that’s how long experts advise keeping a mascara), look to the drugstore for your lash fix. With hundreds of brushes, formulas, and color options, there’s plenty to choose from. Here are our newest favorites to hit the shelves.
Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush
With one of the fattest wands we’ve ever seen, this gel-formula slicks on and stays flexible (not hard and cakey), so it doesn’t flake throughout the day. It also has a cool swivel function, so you can easily maneuver the tip into the corner of your eyes where tiny lashes hide.
L’Oréal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer Mascara
Perfect for those who dislike faux lashes but love the look, L’Oréal’s newest combination of fine rayon and nylon fibers adhere to your lashes and almost double them in length. The 40-degree angled brush makes it especially easy to reach the root of your lash line, and the reverse twist bristle captures every individual hair.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert
If you’ve never tried a curved applicator before, this is your time to invest. The ultra-thick brush follows the natural curve of your lash—it’s practically an eye lash curler and mascara in one! The best part? No clumping!

So I fell in love with Mabelline's ONE by ONE mascara from the volume express collection, and I thought, "Mega Plush. New addition to the volume express collection...I must get my hands on it" And I did just that. I was very disappointed. Too disappointed actually. My lashes broke, kinda like how split neds break. Yea, they broke! Mind you, my lashes are long as is, so a few layers of mascara makes it seem as if I am wearing false lashes. When I first wore this, I had gotten mascara all over my lid (thank goodness it was a day off for me) but still. I cleaned it up and my lashes looked normal. LOOKED! They didn't feel normal at all. They felt brittle after one use. So I tried it again. I said to myself, one month, just give it one month. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! This mascara, within that month, managed to do a number of things to my lashes that I am not happy with. Yes they are growing back, but I think I will definitely stick to ONE by ONE as oppossed to this. Don't get me wrong, it's a great mascara for FALSE lashes, but I don't have flase lashes, and I don't want to wear false lashes either.

The Mega Plush doesn't work for me. But, L`oreal's Voluminousness False Fiber mascara is amazing!! I def. recommend it! I will never choose any other drug store mascara than this one, its the best!!!

The Mega Plush does absolutely nothing for my eyes. I love the Maybeline One x One volume express in the Orangey/Red tube, but that's it. Even their Falsies flared doesn't work for me.
I'll always love the L'Oreal Voluminous Million lash. No false fibers for me. They don't work well for my eyes at all.

I tried Scandal Eyes mascara and I was so displeased with it! The brush was ridiculously big for my lashes, it wouldn't even grab them at all to spread the product! I used it with another mascara wand I had and the product itself was disappointing. It lies in my cosmetic bag still - I use it to bend my eyelashes with false eyelashes.

The one make-up item I don't spend money on is mascara. I've tried Lancome & MAC ones but Maybelline, L'oreal, and Rimmel have fantastic options at a budget friendly cost! It all depends on what you're looking for to amplify your lashes.

I would also recommend Maybelline's Great lash mascara. It's amazing and cheap!

The L'Oréral mascara is only good if you already have long lashes to begin with. I personally love it but it didn't work for my mom that has shorter lashes.
