What's so special about the beauty blender? Is it worth the money? How different is it from a regular sponge? How often do you replace it? :)

Well I for one love my beauty blender. I always tell my mom "best 20 bucks I'll ever spend on a sponge" and she thinks I'm crazy. I've used many different beauty sponges and this is by far the best. the knock off just aren't as soft and bouncy and all around perfect. my beauty blender Make a my foundation flawless everyday. it makes it so it doesn't cake up and just helps it really look like my skin. I replace mineevery few months. hope this helped a little!

Idk, I bought a knock off at TJMaxx for maybe $4. I like it. It's still soft, and washable. I think it still does the job.

It's the material it's made out of that's costly. You can achieve the same finish with the regular wedges you get from Walmart if you want to try it out and see if you feel like it's worth it. It's recommended to replace at least every 3 months.

I personally hated it. I thought maybe I was using it wrong or something because of how great its supposed to be, but I tried several other ways of application, and it still didn't wow me. I'll just stick with my brushes.

I've never tried the real beauty blenders, but I've been using the real techniques ones for months now and I can't see myself ever going back to brushes for my foundation. Plus they're only like?4.

I like mine because I have dry skin. So it adds moisture for me. However, I have to replace mine often and there is maintenance required. But other wise it is a good product. I agree with Kitty maybe try testing your options first!

I honestly like my stippling brushes so much. The beauty blender is nice and all but nothing to hype over. I have a beauty blender and the knock off, tbh they work the same.

I have the real techniques one, (but I got it as a gift the day after I bought the beauty blender) and the beauty blender, and have also tried out many off brand ones, I seem to get the same finish with all of them, but just the feel of the beauty blender is different. But blending my foundation with a sponge takes a lot longer than is does with your fingers or a brush, so I only use it on the weekends when I have the extra time. I would try out the cheaper ones first and see if you like those, and then I would say treat yourself to it if you like that!

The beauty blender feels a little nicer, but I find I get the same finish with the real techniques sponge. I personally love it. I get such a nice, airbrushed finish with a sponge versus my fingers. Brushes are a no go for me. I have some sensory issues, the feel of a wet brush on my face makes me wig out.

May be I shouldn't right away invest in it. It's about $35 here in India. That's a lot for a sponge isn't it? I usually just use my fingers.

I haven't actually tried the original beauty blender, ain't no way in hell I'm paying $20 for no damn sponge, I don't care if I got it like that or not. Lol. I have tried the SoHo dupe from Walmart, all I have to say on that one is "No, back away slowly" eats up foundation + doesn't give that "Beauty blender finish". I however love my dupes from a brand called Amor Us, they have a pointy top and a rounded bottom (figure 8 shaped) their $3, and last months and months :) And apply full coverage foundation like a dream, I always get told I don't look like I'm wearing foundation when I have like half a bottle on my face, lol.

They come in those pastel colors but no black, which I need for my kit so they don't look all stained, if you guys know of any that are affordable let me know.

I purchased the beauty blender and I wasn't very impressed. I'll stick with my buffing brush.

I personally love it😍 I was sceptic on giveint almost 20$ but it's well worth it, I wet mine squeeze the excess water out and it blends my foundation and concealer to a flawless smooth airbrushed like finish. It's softer then the average Beauty sponge make of high quality materials. Also very durable. Hope I helped😃

I personally feel like a beauty blender is a must have, for me anyway. It can do everything! It applies primer, the way it applies foundation makes it look so natural, you can highlight and contour with it and you can blend with it. I'm one of those that didn't like the dupes. I felt like the dupes were harder. I love the way the beauty blender bounces and blends. It's the perfect tool for me!

@Rashi
Yikes...
For $35.00... plus buying supplies used to clean it, along with the fact that it needs to be replaced.. It is quite better to invest in a good brush. Jacqueline H has an extensive knowledge on brushes and could recommend some great brushes for you that you may be even able to get in your country.

As far as sponges go, the beauty blender is by far my favorite (knock offs just didn't cut it for me). However, I greatly prefer using face brushes such as the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and the RT Expert Face Brush. I can't believe it's really $35 over in India! In the You.S. it's only around $20. I honestly don't think I would pay $35 for one, though that is just because I prefer using brushes instead of sponges to apply my makeup. If you're a sponge girl though, I would definitely say splurge for it!

I don't think it's worth $35 at all, especially not considering the fact you have to replace it about every three months. A brush is the best option because you can just wash it and rarely ever need to replace them.

I love love love mine and I must admit I don't really have break out prone skin so I have had mine since last November. I do wash it after every use to rid any bacteria but it's still going strong and I'm not breaking out so why replace it? It's defiantly worth its weight in gold! There is just something about it bouncyness and the way it makes products mesh with the skin that you don't get with other sponges

I'm pretty sure unless the put the price up a lot it's not $35?

Nicola, she stated before in a comment somewhere up there that she where she lives, it's $35.

It makes your makeup look dewy and not cakey, it also blends makeup better than fingers or some brushes.
