First thing I thought of was comfy shoes!! you can always buy insoles that you can transfer around if you don't want to get shoes.
other than that sunscreen, shorts, tshirts, a camera, and all teresa said. I went last summer and it got cold at nights so bring jeans and sweaters too for nighttime.
and make sure you have a nice bag you can walk around with.

Haha Lara is right I live here and sometimes it's cold at night and other times is really hot!! So be prepared for both and bring all your beach essentials and lots of shorts,crop tops, maxi dresses... Etc. Hope you have fun😘(Santa Monica is really nice)
