I know that that isn't what some people consider THE smokey eye.. As in that specific look but from my experience a lot of people call looks smokey because they may not be the smokey eye everyone refers to but they are still smokey. Not a big deal or anything so I wouldn't worry about it

What they are trying to call a smokey eye is actually a gradient eye. If you would like an explanation of a smokey eye just ask and I will give you one.

Since I got on Beautylish I learned the difference. It's just so widely known as the correct smokey eye and I always wondered why no one told them the correct way. Of course, not in a "know it all" matter but I've never seen anyone say anything.

The correct terminology is a gradient eye, like Miss MaKenzie stated. If they really smoked out the lower lash line and really diffused the crease and outer v with a dark dark color, it's a "smoked out look" but not a smoky eye.
