I have very fine hair and I work in an environment where I need to wear it up everyday. I use a tangle teezer and try to be gentle as possible. I recently went to a new salon for a cut and blowdry. my stylist saw all my short baby hairs (my hair is halfway down my back) and accused me of backcombing too much (I've never backcombed) and or straightening my hair whilst damp (I fully dry my hair always) for reasons that my hair is so fine and damaged supposedly. how can I fix this? I feel like this is just how my hair is unless having it up each day is causing problems? I don't wear it super tight either. what can I do? thanks.

Use silky ties for wearing it up to keep from breaking the shaft. You may want to try Joico for thinning/fine/damaged hair as a shampoo. Marshalls often has it. I'd toss the tangle teaser and get a Wet Brush instead ($5) and lay off any heat for a bit. This means cooler water for washing, drying it on cool and not using a straightener right now. I'd also examine my diet. You may want to increase your Iron, B and Vitamin E/Omega intake. If you are on any meds... that, too, can take a toll on hair. Just keep being gentle...wash it less and pick up some good dry shampoo to keep your scalp from building up too much oil and give "Pravana Nevo" a try for conditioner and leave in spray. Ulta has it. Seriously great for damage control. Best of luck yo you!

Olive oil treatments! Omg, I love it. My hair is fine too, and it makes it softer, MUCH shiny-er, and so much more manageable. I massage it on my scalp, and coat the shaft and ends in it (process takes about 20 mins for me), and I leave it in for an hour under a shower cap (to hold the heat in). BEFORE YOU WET YOUR HAIR, use a clarifying shampoo and work up the suds slowly, and then a moisturizing shamp/cond, and rinse with cold water.

Hope you find a solution that works for you! :)

Also, try using hair clips or the stick holder thing for your hair instead of ties :)

Aussie 3 minute miracle works wonders. I had the same problem with my hair but I chopped it all off into a bob haha I also use healthy sexy hair soya want it all and the leave in soy oil stuff. Works wonders for me 😊 I also use head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner because it has zinc in it to help your hair. It was recommended to me and I'm so Glad I gave it a try! 😊 best of luck!
