Bun: how to?

So, I have problems making a good bun. I wanted mine to be round, and in place, but every time I do it, hair keeps falling out and It looks a mess, like a birds nest, it looks awful, and by that I feel like a crazy lady whenever I'm with it. Can you guys give me some tips on how to achieve a good looking bun? Thanks ❤️

I use Bobby pins to pin my layers that stick up down.

Yup, Bobby pins and hairspray lol.

My hair is straight and slippery, so a bun usually takes about twenty bobby pins stuck around it to keep it in place.

I wish I could use that sock bun method, but my hair is just too slippery!
