Vaseline tracks dirt

Vaseline should never be used near the eyes. It is a sealant that traps bacteria and can lead to infections, sties, blocked ducts, blocked follicles, and other nasties.

Crayons are NOT safe to use as cosmetics. Nontoxic means that it probably won't kill you, not that it is safe to ingest. The MSDS from Crayola warns that ingesting crayons can cause stomach upset, and I've witnessed firsthand that when someone decides to eat a crayon (not even the entire thing), violent nausea results. Not to mention it isn't sanitary. Crayon boxes are not sealed; any number of people could've opened them and messed with them on their journey from the factory to your shopping cart. The was does not get heated to a high enough temperature during these DIY recipes to kill most viruses and bacteria. Additionally, the pigments used in crayons are not cosmetic grade. Many pigments (especially reds and pinks) cause skin irritation and allergic reactions.

Honestly, either invest in proper cosmetic grade products from a reputable wholesaler (TKB Trading is a good one) and use safe and sanitary practices, or spend the couple of dollars at the drug store and buy a ready-made product. Most DIYs are foolish if not actually dangerous.
