My family doesn't call me fake as using put a lot of makeup on but they say such thing as why do you use makeup , like they're trying to make me go away from makeup when I wanna Learn more so I understand you. Your family is honestly just being really rude & judgemental. putting on makeup doesn't make you fake. don't pay them any mind, I'm sure they don't even really wear makeup & that's why they don't understand. tell them how their comments made you feel (although they should already know). if you wanna get dolled up, then by all means do it! forget them, family is supposed to be supportive not judgemental. maybe remind them of that too.

Maybe they think you would look just as beautiful with less makeup? I had a friend who would pile on the makeup and I always thought it wasn't necessary. I would take it as a compliment and that they think you are beautiful and don't need makeup to look presentable. In the end tho, do what makes you happy.

My family has never called me fake. They actually stimulate me to go bold sometimes just so that my confidense keeps growing :). But if they tell you that you are fake, then you should really talk about that with them.

My sister use to tease me about putting on makeup just to go to the store, mall, etc.but now she does the same thing because I got her into makeup.
Sometimes I think women are very judgmental to those who wear makeup but only if they know nothing about it. Just do you!!

Wow, how rude. It's stupid how even your own blood judges you...right? My family has never said anything to me straight up, don't know what they say behind my back lol and I don't really care...but they have no room to talk hahah all the females in my immediate family wear makeup..my mom wears soooo much more than me lol. First off you're gorgeous! And to answer your question...I've never had issue with my family or spouse giving me grief about me wearing makeup. If anything they have been nothing but major enablers so I feel blessed in that department. It would be so easy for me to say;"Pay them no mind" but its hard to do when they are family. If it makes YOU feel good wearing makeup then keep doing so. Don't kick your enjoyment to the curb because of few disgruntled relatives. Your skin, your choice.

I've wanted to be a professional makeup artist and stylist since I was about 11 so I've been playing with makeup since. My parents have never cared and always been supportive. My grandparents and one side of my family though is always making comments and saying things like "you would be so pretty without all that makeup" and such. Now that I am a licensed and published professional and am successful the comments have seemed to dwindle (; just do you. All that matters is that you like what you see in the mirror baby doll!

Being a heavy makeup wearer people will ALWAYS have their remarks, but never let them get to you. Your makeup is beautiful. If thats what makes you happy, then stick with it and never listen to others. Its not them wearing it, its you! So they shouldnt be worrying!

My friends used to joke and say "Why do you wear so much makeup? You don't need it!" and I would tell them it isn't about "needing" it, it's about the fun of transformation. Playing with colors on a three dimensional canvas, understanding how changing light can completely alter a face. It is art.

Now when I don't wear makeup all I hear is "Yikes! Are you ill? You should throw a little makeup on!" It's like I can't win with these people. :P
