Sephora has a few stand outs in the professional platinum line, but maybe 25% of them are worth owning. I'd rather get synthetic face brushes from the Sigmax line though... More affordable and more consistent quality. (Sigmax brushes are more dense!) I wasn't very interested in their other brushes. I do like my MAC eye brushes better than Sephora's eye brushes though.

Haha, and I'll always agree with Nicole when it comes to Hakuhodo and LY brushes! If you're willing to invest, they're heavenly soft and do what they're supposed to do. They turn makeup application from a chore into a decadent treat!

The majority of Sephora's brushes really fall short compared to MAC. The eye brushes I have work okay, but they're scratchy and uncomfortable to use on my eyes, so I never reach for them. I also prefer the shape of MAC's blending brush to Sephora's. The only Sephora brush that I reach for on a daily base is their "Synthetic Blush Brush" from the I.T. collection, but it's $35 and I don't think they have a set of the I.T. collection.

So I would only recommend Sephora brushes when they have one of their sales, otherwise they're not worth it. Hope that helps. :)

I have three of them and I only like one out of those three. I have two black handle blending brushes. One is quite soft and the other was soft, but ended up being quite scratchy. I also have a black handle smudge brush and, ugh, that made my eyes water. I'd probably stick with the MAC ones even though I'm not a MAC fan much anymore.

I've never actually purchased any of the Sephora brushes because I find them to to be overpriced, and there's no pro discount. They have a nice selection, but I would stick with MAC or another trusted brand.

I have Advanced Airbrush set from Sephora and I really like it. They're super soft synthetic brushes. I've had them for more than a year and use them regularly and have never had a problem with them. But there seems to be a lot of variation in quality from one Sephora brush set to another.

I have a couple of MAC brushes and I do like them, but they're so incredibly expensive that I would really hesitate to buy more.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Samantha Chapman Real Techniques brush sets right now. I have the core collection and I use it every single day. They're synthetic and very soft. They don't shed. They hold up well with regular cleaning. And you can get a whole set of them for what you'd pay for 1 MAC brush.
