Matte or Shimmer?

I love matte shadows. I'm always surprised at how many palettes there are out there with shimmer and how few without.

Which do you prefer?

it depends i think shimmer ones have more fallout it depends on if u have time to clean up the fallout or ur in a rush and use matte!:) i like both!

I love shimmer for my lids and matte shades for my crease! I have at least 5 different shades of matte brown that I use for my crease and I'm obsessed haha! I wish they had more palettes with matte shades.... :D

For photography purposes, I choose mattes. And I still prefer matte shadows over shimmers. You can always add some shimmer over any matte shadow, they are just more versatile in my opinion

I like shimmer, mostly. i'll do some of those satiny matte kinds for the crease sometimes... but I am not a huge fan of matte colors... maybe it's that my matte colors just aren't very good... because i never seem to get the vibrancy to look like it should or how i want it to... just dull, blah color. but if i use a shimmery shade, BOOM! intense, beautiful, blendable color.

I love both but it's so difficult to find palettes with a good mix that I just went crazy with matte eyeshadows from Inglot to try and balance. I really don't understand why everything is so shimmery...

I love the look and finish of the shimmer palettes . They look fierce and leave a statement . But on an everyday look or an office look I prefer the matte . It isn't so in your face and for me I feel like it stays on longer . My boyfriend also prefers the matte . He thinks the shimmers are too much unless we're going somewhere at night .
So overall I have to say my matte pallet has brought me more happiness . HaHa .

Matte because they're so versatile and a loose shimmer pigment can dress up a matte look but it's hard to dress down a shimmery eye but when they're so pretty it's hard to stay clear

for photography I pick matte, i'm not a lover of shimmer, to build colour use matte as a base and then shimmer on top. shimmer reflects the light and matte abserves.
