Hey everyone! So I'm looking to put some purple in my hair (I currently have burgundy, and have had purple in the past, I think it's time to go back to an old friend!) However, I'm not using shampoo meant for color treated hair right now, which is making my hair wash out SOO fast.
So, in your experiences, what brands/kinds of color-treated hair shampoo have worked best for you? Or what would you recommend to reduce color fading?
Use a high end shampoo for sure. They dont have the harsh chemicals in them like drugstore shampoo does. I like Joico, Big sexy hair (there are diffrent names in the sexy hair line), Hempz.. uurrm, Quantum (a high end but its a cheaper price brand)..
hope it helped LOL
You definitely need to invest in some sulfate free shampoo and a super moisturizing conditioner. I'd suggest trying something a little high end for conditioner. Check out brands like Giovanni, Fekkai, Kenra, Joico, etc.
I love the Champagne Rose line from O'Right. These products are eco-friendly, natural, and organic, and contain no sulfates, parabens, or plastics. My color stays beautiful with no fading, and the smell is amazing! http://www.organiccolorsystems.com/...
I plan on washing my hair less often, as I don't want to be re-dying all the freakin time! Anyone tried Matrix Biolage, Nexxus, Paul Mitchell, or anything you can get at the drugstore, but it higher end?
Oh or Catwalk?
You need to try Oribe Shampoo & Conditioner for Beautiful Color! It's worth every penny you invest for sure. I have long hair and I'm only halfway done with the shampoo & conditioner after 5 months.
I like "color protection" by Avon. I have BRIGHT PINK highlights :) hahaha and I just had to re do them cause I didnt use a color shampoo either haha. So I had to re do them and now Im useing this and I am washeing my hair every other day. I take showers I just dont wash my hair so offten, and I try to keep my hair products to a minimum so I wount have a bunch of crud in it and their for be forced to wash it
Pureology is an amazing line that is Vegan and is all targeted for color treated hair. Also Enjoy has some great sulfat free shampoos great for color treated hair.
Honestly, the best tip I have is cold water. That keeps the cuticle from opening as
much so the color won't come out so bad. Also, sulfate free shampoos are amazing in conjunction with cold water. I love the Ever product lines from L'Oreal. They are inexpensive and really nice.

Paul Mitchell, cold water, twice a week. I also avoid heat and styling products, as they'll tend to strip the color out faster.
