i did one strand in cotton candy pink manic panic and left it in over night .. showed up and stuff but not as bright as i intended.. do you think it will intensify it if i repeat my actions tonight on the same strand?
i think it would. thats pretty much what you have to do when you bleach hair, you keep bleaching till its the right color. since it already turned pink it should turn pinker with more dye.
To be honest, it's probably because you used Manic Panic. I personally don't like their pinks. I've used Special Effects and Punky Colour and like those much more.
I've used Cotton Candy Pink before, and I have had the same problem. If you are wanting to use Manic Panic, get Hot Hot Pink and mix some of it with some conditioner if you want a lighter pink. Not only will you get the color you want, but that jar will last longer. Manic Panic can be easier to find than a lot of other brands that might be of better quality.
If you want a more vibrant pink, you will have to lighten the section of you hair that wants that really bright color. (I know, I know, not fun at all =/) Adding more product will actually darken your color as more pigment is applied/absorbed into the cuticles of your hair.
The brand is okay but some of the colors can be very hit and miss.
The ones I have used are great but you get those random troublesome shades...
Try it again, if it doesn't work check out another brand.
I was just in Sally's today and the lady suggested the Ion Color Brilliance brand, as they have a bunch of new crazy colors in. She said they last a very long time. Can't speak on them as I passed them up today though:)
Purvana is nice if you are looking into salon color brands...Ion Brilliance is ok...their hottest pink is nice, but works better on porous hair...if your hair is in perfect condition, it won't grab pink or red as nicely...if you go with the lighter shades, it will be more cotton candy like, especially if you already have a bleached base, or recently bleached base.
