I don't have horrible skin but I do have more acne then most on my face and also dark spots. I've seriously tried so many products from proactive to going to the doctor and having them prescribe me something for my acne. I started getting acne around 7th grade I am now in college and have been for two years and I still suffer from acne. I wash my face everyday and night,I use a toner and moisturize and even change my pillow cases frequently. I got the clarisonic this past march and I've been using it with one of the clean and clear cleanser (I've been using clean and clear products for a long time) I seen a difference in my skin my darks spots weren't as dark and my completion looked more even but it hasn't cleared my acne. lately I've been breaking out bad and Idk if its from the new clean and clear cleanser I'm trying or what.but I want to know what product will for sure clear my acne?I just want clear skin already and I've been trying forever. So let me know please!

Maybe you're allergic to something? I switched to organic/natural products and it has helped my skin. Shea terra's African black soap is nice to use as a mask for acne. if you don't want to make the whole change try fragrance free and go from there?

Maybe you have a allergy to a face cleaning product you use or makeup. I personally break out worse when I use clean and clear products. I've been using philosophy pure cleansing gel and micro delivery exfoliating wash with my clarisonic and I have noticed a huge difference. They are between $25 and $35 dollars a piece but well worth it. If you have a sephora close they will give you samples of them! I also use the clear days ahead salicylic acid treatment/moisturizer daily.

Have you considered changing your diet to eliminate/cut down on your sugar intake? I also had the same problem with my skin and tried everything. I even went on Accutane (twice!!) and my acne would always come back. I finally got to the point where I didn't want to take any oral medications any longer and looked to more natural ways to treat my acne. At first I was completely unwilling to change my diet (I'm a bit of a sugar addict ;)) but eventually I was able to switch to a vegan/vegetarian diet and cut out most of the sugar from my day-to-day life. Sugar causes inflammation and I have found that only having it one day a week, as a dessert, has helped not only my skin but my energy level as well!

Something to consider but it is definitely a life style change.

Stop using acne products, cleanse with cerave hydrating cleanser, use a BP 3% toner and use a light moisturizer like CeraVe pm moisturizer. Then cut down on suger products like Carmen said but also cut out all dairy from your diet for at least 2 weeks. Dairy is a big cause of inflammation in some ppl, as it was for me and once I cut it out I barely broke out anymore. I had bad acne from 18 to 28!! These steps really helped me and I am clear now for almost a year now. Also if all else fails, try changing any birth control you are using, it sometimes can help or break you out depending on how your body reacts to the hormones. I have a IUD and no reactions with it but had bad reactions to most pills.

I know that this will sound stupid but my very best friend had the same problem and it was her laundry detergent and as soon as she used a different one and continued washing her face her acne went away and now her skin is as soft as a babies but!! it might sound stupid but it can cause acne.

I'm sorry, I hope that helps you Sabrina. I know exactly how you feel and it can make you so depressed and just make you so exhausted from dealing with it! I hope it gets better and you don't have to deal with it anymore. try what I said and also I forgot to mention, try to use coconut oil or argan oil at night to moisturize, that will help balance out the oils you naturally produce and has many other benefits for the skin! You are still absolutely gorgeous no matter what!

I've had acne for 20 years - mine is hormonal, and it's been a bitch to control. Try using Cetaphil cleanser with your clairsonic, Aztec Healing Clay as a mask once a week, and coconut oil as a moisturizer at night. I've been using Skin79 Hot Pink bb cream rather than foundation, and that's helped my skin a lot. It's evened the tone and it keeps me from getting too shiny. Cetaphil moisturizer works well for me too.

One more suggestion: make sure to change your pillowcase every few days, and try a detergent with no dyes or perfumes.

Good luck! Believe me, you're not alone.

Your diet is a big contributor to acne if you cut down on bread, sugar, sodium all the bad fried food you should start to see a difference because whenever I eat all this junk food I break out so try this for a bit you will be saving some money

Hey Sabrina! ;)
I know how you feel and I recommend getting away from Clean and Clear.
I agree with Caitlind. Philosophy has a line called Clear Days Ahead meant for acne and acne scarring. I really love their products and use their facial cleanser with my Clarisonic.
Also, I've been using the Clarisonic for half a year now and it's a process! There were immediate improvements to my skin but a lot of them come from, I'd say, 3 months of using it. Give it time, the Clarisonic is magical.
I'm assuming you use makeup and if you do, I recommend this one: http://www.sephora.com/purity-made-simple-P7109?
It literally melts makeup off your face while still cleaning your pores. You could also try to small size at the lower price to test it out.
If you want to change your whole skin routine, I also recommend going over to a Clinique counter and getting their 3-step routines. They work for specific skin types and are very cheap. I think the cleanser, toner and moisturizer all costs less than like 50$-60$ after tax.
I even recommend going to a Sephora or Nordstrom and asking for help to find an affordable, specific and effective skin care routine for you!
Good luck, from one Sabrina to another!

I don't want to come off rude, because I totally hear you on how frustrating acne is, but you could have something worse such as a facial deformity or disease, so just remember to be thankful! But definitely keep doing what you're doing like changing your pillow cases and using your clarisonic. I've heard from other reviewers that their clarisonics caused worse acne, so I would consider that, too. Keep your chin up, you're beautiful and acne is so common in women.

If worse comes to worse you could get laser acne treatment to get it taken off, but I agree with most things that have already been said.

Listen to me. I know where your coming from. I know its hard to stop worrying about your face but don't wash your face everyday. less products is better. your freaking out your skin and making it produce more oil by constantly washing it and putting lots of products. if you aren't allergic to benzoyl peroxide I saw go to your physician or dermatologist and ask them to prescribe you Epiduo. it saved my skin! I get where your coming from. get back to me and I can give you more information and helpful tips and share more about my experience. stay strong, you are beautiful. don't let acne make you feel like you aren't. this is just a phase. you skin WILL get better. I promise...just don't stress sweety(:

Try to avoid any of the proactive products, they contain an agent that causes a somewhat addiction in your skin and other products won't work. Also mineral makeup can actually make acne worse if put over it. So if you're using that to cover acne try switching to a "regular" foundation and face products for awhile. I actually learned that from the Bare minerals rep when I worked at Ulta.

Sabrina, don't feel alone because you're not. I know it's stressful and a blow to the ego and just gives you negative thoughts but acne is so normal. You are by no means ugly, it is society that is ugly for making you feel this way about something so natural. I may or may not have a solution for you as acne really is trial and error. Biggest thing I can recommend is to change your diet and how much you are active. Dairy and sugar are both linked to but not necessarily proven to cause acne. Try ridding those for a month and mark changes good and bad in a journal. Also drink at least 8 cups of water a day, it will do wonders for hydrating your skin which is key to preventing acne but will also make your skin glow. Make sure to do about 20 min moderate cardio like jumping jacks 5 days a week. Then a lot of the rest product wise as I said is trying it out seeing what works for you as different acne needs different products. I personally have had all kinds of acne through life currently with cystic now (I'm 20.) One last thing, look into your blood type because there are ideal diets based on blood type. Skin cells are regenerated every 10 days so the things you consume will change your results. We are what we eat! Hope I helped and good luck to you. Feel free to get in touch with me if you are further interested :)

I totally feel you. I am in a similar boat. It was really n ad at one point but really improved the last two years. I stopped obsessing over it because I overwashed, used too many products, pocked, etc. Once I stopped, my skin got more and more "normal" Also, have you tried cutting out dairy products from your diet? Too much dairy and hormones can be irritating.
