Hello! Does it really matter what soap you use for cleaning your beauty blenders, so long as it gets clean?
What's the difference between using the original beauty blender hard soap vs the benjabelle soap cleanser for brushes (the hard soap that comes in a little silver tin - that's what I use for my beauty blenders) vs an ordinary bar of everyday hand soap?
Any other options for cost-effective cleaning?

I think it really depends on what you're okay with putting on your skin, since some residue will be left! Any gentle soap should be fine, though :)

You should try one part olive oil and one part hand soap to clean brushes and beauty blenders so they last longer

I think it does matter, I've had 3 of them & the one I washed with organic hand soap & it made the sponge really hard & it doesn't get as soft and it doesn't expand as much. The others I washed with the the beauty blender liquid soap.

Honestly, I don't think its the best, but I use soft dishsoap and its amazing. its get all the makeup out. I make sure to get the soap out completely. I havent had luck with bars of soap.

I use the same as Lara, dish soap. It gets my beauty blenders and brushes super clean and I have never had any problem :)

I use hand soap first then use my face wash. I don't know why but I feel like it helps.

I used the dove bar soap to clean my brushes and blenders. I find that works the best.

I use baby soap so it is gentler but I wouldn't use just any soap. Use softer cleansers.

I use baby soap as well.

I use baby soap also because it's gentle.

I love the Beauty Blender liquid cleanser. I thought it was a gimmick... But then I received a deluxe sample from Sephora and a couple of drops quickly and thoroughly cleaned my BB. I was using my normal brush cleanser but I felt like it wasn't getting all of the product out. I also tore a BB trying to get it clean. I've had my current blenders for 4 months and no tearing.

I agree with Jenni. I love the BB cleanser. I find that that cleanser is the only one that gets out all the stains and makeup out of my BB.

Thanks Jenni + Viviana :) I have previously used the BB liquid and yes, it does effectively clean the BBs. The only problem was that I seemed to need a lot of product in order to effectively clean my BB. So I would end up finishing a bottle very quickly.
The BB cleansing soap seemed to last longer as well as the Benjabelle soap balm. I'm just trying to find other soaps that are cost-effective.
Silly question, but how did you clean your BBs with the liquid? Do you leave the soap soak for a while into the BB?
I need to do that with my BB, whether it was with the BB or Benjabelle soaps. And sometimes it will take 3-4 soapy "soaks" before my BB is clean.

I put a couple drops in my wet hands and work up a lather- then I work the lather into my BB. I clean it every other use, I was letting too much product build up since I have several BB's so it was taking me forever to clean them. Now that I'm doing it more often, it's easier to clean.
