I have naturally thick, curly hair so I don't usually curl my hair but when I do, it never lasts more than two hours. it's very frustrating because as much as I love my natural curls, I like to change it up every now and then, but I feel like I can't as it won't last no matter how much hairspray I use. I know this is usually a problem for those with finer hair so I can't find many solutions as mine is fairly thick. Any help is much appreciated!

What I like to do to have my curls last longer is, after I curl a strand I bobby pin it to head. After every curl is up I apply hairspray. I then let it cool down and take it down. I do find doing this makes my curls last all day.

I agree with Ivette! Don't let the curl fall while it's still hot, it makes all the difference.

For me I can't curl my hair with heat - because after about an hour the curls fall flat - so I stopped using heat to curl my hair - now I use foam rollers in dry hair overnight and that works for me to keep my curls lasting all day.

I think you could try Diana's method... I would try it out with damp hair saturated with a bit of leave in conditioner. If you don't have rollers you can also do pin curls: roll the strands onto themselves and pin down the coil.

Something that I think is dumb but works for me is straightening my hair first. I have really thick wavy hair and if I wash my hair, blow dry, and then curl it won't hold; but if I straighten first it works. I also agree the other ladies on using pins to hold the curl and then spray. Rollers might also be a good idea but my hair is so thick I have to have like 500 rollers lol but if you can make it work thats a great option.

Hey the same thing happens to me as well but what I do to make then last longer is after I've curled it I hold the curl in my hand for 20 seconds to let the curl set and carry on with the rest of my hair and then hairspray it and comb ny fingers through so it doesn't get all crunchy :)

Thank all of you for your suggestions! I'll definitely be trying them. As for rollers, and reccomendations for what brand/kind would work best? I've never used them before.

Just look for something that has the size you want your curls to be - smaller rollers mean tighter curls - the brand is really not important.
