I decided to try a rose design. I have a love hate relationship with roses, I love them but they hate me! I can never EVER get them right, no matter how many techniques I try. I thought maybe it would turn out different this time, but I failed yet again. Oh well! I will still try these designs again and again, hopefully they will turn out one of these times :)
Tutorial:
Started off with Essie's All in One Base Coat
Using an off brand white and a dotting tool, I added simple white dots on all nails.
I used another off brand polish, this time a bright pink, and a larger dotting tool to create the bases of my roses.
To create the leaves I used Zoya Jace and a nail art brush and painted them on the outside of the roses.
I used a light grey polish and another nail art brush to create the illusion of petals. This is what always goes wrong, and I have read that adding a second color to the petals could make a difference. So I mixed a white polish with the pink used for the base of the roses to get a light pink. I then used this color to add some highlight and definition to the roses.
I finished it off with NYC Matte Me Crazy Top Coat.
What do you guys think? Does this design look right without a base color?

Okay I just completely changed my mind on the green! Done like this it's the perfect color!

I am seriously in love with it Sabrina! I love flower designs, and this is the perfect green to go along!! You really mean it? I always feel like my roses are sub par :/ They are the one design I feel I just can't nail (XD I couldn't help myself)

I usually don't really like rose design on nail as I always feel like they are not done right and look very amateurish... but girl you can pull them off! they look amazing and I love it with the negative and white dots!! good job!
