It's my 18th birthday in March and I'm having a fancy dress party. I know it's a while away yet but fancy dress costumes generally require time and effort, plus lots of money! It will be indoors so weather isn't a problem :)
I was wondering if you all could give me any fancy dress costume ideas. I wasn't going to go with a themed fancy dress but if I see something good enough, I might go for it :) preferably not generic costume ideas, I don't want to be the 15th Supergirl or Alice in Wonderland!
I was thinking maybe Andie from Pretty In Pink or Cher from Clueless (I have a love of 80s and 90s films!). The only problem with going as Cher is that I'll probably get people asking me why I'm dressed as Iggy Azalea in the 'Fancy' video...how annoying! The problem with Andies costume is that she doesn't really have an iconic look as such. I could get my hoyfriend to dress up as either Duckie or Josh/Kristian too haha :)
I thought Sandie from Grease (the bit where she's wearing leather leggings, red heels and has her hair all teased and curly) was a good idea but it is quite generic.
Anyway, if anyone has any fancy dress costume ideas, good places to buy (I am in the UK but I can order online), DIY tips, ANY tips whatsoever for fancy dress, hair, makeup, anything!
If I did do a DIY, I would do a practice run, make it months in advance and get my grandmother to help me as she's been a seamstress for over 60 years!:)

Thanks Jess! I know but it would annoy me haha :) Clueless is pretty much my favourite film, just a case of finding the outfit without it having 'sexy' or 'mini' plastered before it!
