It's a dutch braid. You know when you normally french braid, you put the hair over the next piece? Do the same, but UNDER instead of over. Add pieces like you normally would, following the curve of the head. Then just pull and loosen pieces

Its called a Dutch braid, instead of braiding the 3 sections inwards, you do it outwards if that makes sense :) there should be lots of videos on YouTube if you look up Dutch braid!
