Is a ceramic or titanium plated flat iron better?

I have a ceramic plated hair straightener and it is amazing. I used to have a titanium plated, but it was really crappy and it constantly stopped working 😑

I have both ceramic and titanium. It really depends on your hair type and condition...plus how often and at what temp you use the iron. I would actually love a Tourlamine and hope to get one after my pre-holiday no buy is over.

This article explains the pros and cons of all 3 plates and helps to figure out which is best for your needs and budget. I hope it helps!

Do you have thick or thin hair and how is the overall condition of your hair?

Thick, wavy and frizzy. I hav a flat iton bow but after I use it my hair gets frizzier and I realky need to find a good one that makes it straight and lasts.

Try getting a ceramic and tourmaline plated straightener. The tourmaline and ceramic helps keep your hair soft and shiny, it has something to do with oils in your hair and vitamins or something lol I had a ceramic and tourmaline plated straightener and it was amazing until it broke after several years, now I have a titanium one and I hate it. It loses heat quickly and fries my hair

I personally feel Tourlamine coated Titanium would be better as it works very well on thick hair and is excellent at delivering even heat, but this is just my personal opinion. Look for one that permits you to regulate exact temperature for maximum control. Hopefully the article will prove helpful and you will receive more feedback. I am a fan of Babyliss as is my pro stylist. If you bypass Tourmaline, the Babyliss Nano Titanium Pro is outstanding. I've had mine for years. Best of luck to you'

( Ceramic is great for thinner locks, but with Tourlamine is still a nice choice.)

I love my Babybliss Nano Titanium pro! It's hands down the best flat iron I've ever used.

I already have a G3 Salon Pro styling iron (w/pure tourmaline ceramic plates) but the latest addition, the Karmin Salon Series sounds awesome - 100% ceramic plates and ionic technology is very tempting!

Lin, how much was your flat iron and does it show exact temperature by degrees? Also, what type of hair do you have? I'm certainly interested in learning more.

Naama, I won't lie...mine were both on the pricy side, but they aren't all created equally. My titanium I got through my stylist at cost with my Babyliss dryer and my ceramic are pure plates. Some are only ceramic coated...and the Tourlamine adds on cost. As Lin mentioned, if you go ceramic, don't get fooled by plates that aren't top notch. As I've stated, I have used both titanium and ceramic and it really depends on hair type and condition which works for people. I'd never completely dismiss either plate, but Tourlamine is definitely worth saving up for or adding to a Christmas list.

I agree Stefphany. I have thicker, wavy hair so I find ceramic working better
