Maybe a clear mascara and light lip gloss. Not too much but just enough for them to practice.

I think that people mature differently, and young girls should be able to express themselves in anyway they can, including makeup.

No they can wear play makeup, you know those little kiddy makeup kits, not proper makeup.

I think they can play with it but not wear out the house besides lipgloss.

I wouldn't suggest heavy eye shadow but some mascara and maybe some concealer. Some lip gloss and light lip stick is ok too.

I'm not too keen on it, its fun to play dress up but as an every day thing I wouldn't be happy with it. I think kids should be kids as long as possible. Introducing them to make up too early makes them older before their time.

I always wore makeup and played around with it at home, but I never wore it out.

I started wearing makeup when I was 12. It all depends on the person and the makeup. Are we talking heavy eyeliner and orange foundation? A little lipgloss, powder, and mascara is just fine however. 👌

They should be exposed to it, but not necessarily WEAR it.

I started when I was 12 HOWEVER only wore brown eyeliner on my waterline (occasionally-not for school, only for events) and clear mascara. Lip gloss was my favorite though!

I think they should just wear lipgloss and a little mascara as an example I didn't start wearing makeup till I was 14.

Honestly no. Kids that young have no need to. It's fine for play makeup like just eyeshadows and lip glosses, and they don't really need concealer because they have very few imperfections.

I'm thinking lipgloss and the little peel off nail polish is fine. But actually makeup it too big of a responsiblity for kids. You can mess up you skin and eyes if you don't use makeup properly.

My cousin is eleven and she wears eye liner, I don't think she needs it, but she's just playing around I suppose.

No, first, it isn't healthy and it ages you faster. I'm fifteen and all I wear is eyeliner, bronzer, blush, mascara and lipgloss. You shouldn't wear foundation until your 17. But 12 year olds shouldn't wear anything but lipgloss.

No, I believe there too young and not responsible enough or able to comprehend how the skin works. if they do not take care of there skin properly it can really damage them in the long run. Maybe a little lipgloss but that is good enough. I started wearing foundation and eyeshadow when I was 14. I was about to enter highschool.

It truly depends on the person... a good lightweight foundation (powder or liquid), tinted moisturizer, or "BB" cream ( which is a tinted moisturizer that has a guaranteed spf... I'm not a fan of gimmicks but if it gets people on the spf bandwagon I'm all for it) can do wonders for a young girls self confidence and esteem, I advise that parents go with their kids to the drug store or ulta ( the girls there are amazing and will not try to force a 40 foundation onto a 12 yr old) and make it fun. I think a mascara in dark brown one coat only, a lip colored balm or lipgloss is fine, if they do decide they want to wear a foundation (a pimple to 12 yr old can be the worst thing in the world) I advise getting a very neutral blush to add color back into the cheeks. Also... glitter... I think a light dusting on the lid or a gloss with a little in it is harmless and they will be mad when they get older that you deprived them of wearing a little glitter(my biggest regret was not wearing more glitter, I'm too old now, at least for the fun colors). Essence is a great brand for the young ones (and a cult hit with makeup junkies) and they do glitter just right... plus you can spoil your kid while only spending 10 bucks. Be smart, and never ever let your kid bring eyeliner with her to school... ever.
