Lexy E.'s Beauty Product Reviews
Just got a tube of this at Nordstrom in red lizard. The semi matte formula is nice, not super drying with good color pay off. I add a little clear gloss for moisture. Red lizard is a really pretty vibrant red that doesn't look garish or cheap. I've tried other red lipsticks and they tend to rub off and get all over drink glasses on a night out. This stuff stays on nicely and doesn't rub off! For 28 bucks it's a bit pricey, but it is worth it for the quality of the product!
I have been using Stila's felt pen eyeliner and although very good, the cost outweighed the benefits. A cashier at my local Walgreens recommended this stuff and I am so glad she did! It goes on smooth, has great lasting color when applied with a shadow base and only costs like 2 bucks a pop. It isn't waterproof like the Stila eyeliner but I haven't had any issues with it running or smearing throughout the day. Highly recommend this product of you want the same look as expensive brands but don't want to pay the price!
best nail polish ever!
I am a huge Essie fan, their polishes go on smooth and have really great pigment. I am not very skilled at painting my nails but I always have people asking me where I get my nails done after using Essie polishes because they go on so nice :). Chinchilly is a really pretty grey color, you need about 3 coats for it to look vibrant though. It's worth the 8 bucks a bottle and you can find them pretty much anywhere, LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
Easy to use but smelly
This stuff is really goof proof, especially for someone like me who has never used self tanner before. I have the mousse version and it does leave a sticky film once applied. I put it on at night before bed so I don't spend the day feeling sticky. It also has a yucky smell to it that lingers until you shower. On the plus side, it does leave a nice sun kissed glow that lasts if you apply everyday!
This stuff is great for covering dark under eye circles as well as blemishes. I use a small make up brush to apply it to blemishes, otherwise it gets to cakey looking. Your fingers work fine for applying it under your eyes. A little bit goes a long way with this stuff, making it last awhile and the price worth it!
This stuff leaves a really nice natural glow. I sweep it across my cheek bones and on my jawline to give a sunkissed look. The only draw back is the flimsy brush that comes with it, but that can easily be thrown out and replaced with a nicer one that you already own. It only takes a tiny bit to give a nice healthy glow and it doesn't make you look like a jersey shore cast member :)
This stuff is amazing! It was my first cream eye shadow and I will never go back! Paired with the urban decay shadow primer potion, this stuff stays put all day and night. I put this on first thing in the morning and it lasts all the way until I am ready to hit the sack, even if I go out and have a late night. It does not need to be reapplied or touched up either. The color is very pigmented so it doesn't take many applications, which is nice since it isn't super cheap (22 bucks a pop). Mine last about 6 months at a time if used every day which is pretty good. All and all a great product and totally worth the money!
Great after shaving!
This scrub is awesome to use after shaving your legs! It has a nice cocktail smell and leaves your legs extra smooth right after shaving. I do think it is a bit harsh to use on your face though. My boyfriend loves using it to get dry skin out of his beard so it works well for men with facial hair since it penetrates so deep. All in all it's a great product for removing dead skin and leaving your bits silky smooth!
great for oily acne prone skin!
This stuff works really well for acne prone skin! It comes in a good sized container and lasts a long time. I've had mine for months and use it every week and it still is half full. My only complaint is that it's messy and gets all over the bathroom as well as in your hair if you're not careful. Other then that it works well to control oil and clear breakouts. I use it about three nights a week to keep my skin soft and clear.
I know this stuff is intended for teenagers with acne prone skin, but I have to say that I'm a huge fan! I am 25 and have tried everything from pro activ to all the other over the counter and dermatologist prescribed stuff. After a round of acutane, clearasil acne face scrub and rapid clear gel keep my skin clear and get rid of pimples practically over night. Teenager or not, give it a try!
