Feathered Beauties

Published Nov 18, 2011

Gone are the days when feathers were only used for a costume or placed on a hat. Wearing a feather earring, adding a feather to your hair, experimenting with feathered false eyelashes, or simply painting one on your face is now a fun and pretty fashion statement. You can even hang them off your handbag or create a pretty vase full of feathers for your home. We look to three Beauties for some inspiration.

Desiree E.

Create a bold statement for a holiday party or special occasion. Feathered false lashes look stunning when paired with a matching eye shadow, as Desiree has done here, or wear them alone for a more subtle look. They're a gorgeous way to play up your eyes and try something different.

Kailyn D.

We've already told you how much we love peacock feathers, but have you thought about adding them to your hair? The jewel-toned shades look beautiful on brunettes (and blondes!) and make an eye-catching statement.

Maryam M.

We’ve already mentioned feathered eye lashes, but why not be daring and apply them to just one eye? Although this look is best for a party or special event, be inspired to have fun and try something bold with feathers (like Maryam).

These are NYX feather lashes. Loved them to finish the look. My makeup inspiration came from vintageortacky youtube peacock tutorial.

Great job, and those feather lashes really add the perfect finishing touch to your whole look.

I have those same blue feather lashes - they're super fun! I have a few feather lashes but no where to wear them and Halloween only comes once a year! =[

I was Kevin (the bird from Up) for Halloween. My friend Alyssa Parkinson did the make-up :)
