Sandra is right :) I have the Sigma E40 love it and use it in every single eye look I do :)
I don't have the MAC 224 but most brushes soften up after some use and a few washes. My E40 gets a bit rough too, maybe the air dries the fibers out, Idk, I just give it a quick wash w/Dr.Bronner's Peppermint and it's good.

The MAC 224 is a lot more sparse than I thought it would be. I would go for the Sigma one.
