Miss M.

So I a wanting to go from a dark black (I've been told I am about a 5 from the hairdressers) to a light brown sort of colour. Originally I was going to just get my hairdresser to bleach it and then put a toner through but when I went in to book I got a diffrent hairdresser and she says that my hair isn't healthy enough to get it bleached

However it is healthy enough to do foils and that sort of stuff

Anyway I was wondering if there is a way to get to that colour without bleach in a professional salmi for under 200$

There is one problem tough that I go to a private school 😫 and my hair needs to be one colour so I can't just keep getting highlights and stuff like that- I am aloud to change colours and I am prepared for the regrets and etc..

So does any one know what to do

And I've allready thought about doing at home bleech kits but I want to leave it to the professionals until I am a bit more experienced with my hair and colour

FYI- my hair hasn't been died before I have only used wash out ones and the last time I used time was about 20 weeks ago so more then enough washes to be completely out

I had red hair and went to blonde for about £45 (not sure what that is in dollas) but in England we have 'colour before' and it strips your hair of any colour and restores it, however as your hair is natural it may not work as good. But it's SO strong so it wouldn't surprise me if it would work? but it would make your hair very light ginger and that's when you go buy the colour you want and put it on top! that's what I did anyways 😊 hope you end up with the colour you want eventually! xxx

I am booked in to the hairdressers for a treatment and a slight colour to make it healthier and a nice sort of dark chocolate colour

My problem is I can't justify spending so much money but the problem is that if I get it healthier I have to wait another 10 was tog et it died again and that's another 200$ but I'll get it healthier and in a little while I will go back and bleech it thanks for all your help xx

And Beth I hope I do as well- hopefully I can get it at a later date xx

Why don't you do a hair mask treatment at home for two weeks to repair it and then go get it bleached and colored.

Most hairdressers I've gone to have always said "your hair isn't healthy enough" even when that was before I started dying my hair lol. If it were me I'd use a 30vol peroxide and bleach powder, leave it on for 45 minutes. It'll probably come out orange because your hair is black, but from orange you'll be able to dye it a brown colour. If it doesn't come up as light brown a as you'd like, wait 2 weeks and use a 20vol peroxide, repeat the bleaching process again, and put the colour in you'd like. That's just what I would do and have done from personal experience :) if you're not game to do it yourself maybe convince the hairdresser you understand that bleach damages hair but you want them to do it anyway. :)

Don't go darker if you plan to lighten it. Maybe I misunderstood your question. You are a dark blonde and want to go to a light brown? Dark blonde is lighter than light brown.

Oh good god I can't read. Sorry. Hah! You're a dark black. Do you have any Sally's Beauty stores by you? In your state? If not, go online. They have bleach washes. Excellent and work well.

Keep it professional, doing things at home can turn out terribly.

Ya I was going to do it at home but I have decided to get it done professionally- it's so much money but it worth it 😂
