What do you do when a makeup client has bad brows? I had a young lady approach me to do her prom makeup. She has very bushy, unkept brows and (not in a chic Cara Delevingne way. ) I asked her (in the nicest way possible) if she planned on getting her eyebrows done and she said no. Eep!
What do I do when it comes to her makeup application?

Wow, that's a toughy! I don't think there's much you can do just bare with it I guess. at the end its her face and if she doesn't want to wax that's her you get me?..maybe give her a soft look so it won't clash with her bushy eyebrows (I don't think a dramatic look would be good)

Or whip out some scissors and cut the really really long ones tell her is really necessary you do it to complete the perfect look.

Be honest and nice but tell her sorry but your brows need to be done and least a little fix not something over the top.

I've actually dealt with this one before! I borrowed some inspiration from drag queens :) What I did was buy Elmer's stick glue (the purple kind works best) and glued down all the scraggly hair. A thick layer may be needed for really thick hair. Try just cleaning around her natural shape so it looks slightly more natural. After the glue dried I just concealed the pressed down hair. You might need a little bit more concealer than normal. Then set with a loose powder. After that's done do her foundation and whatever else you're going to do. This trick saved my butt because my client wanted a bolder look and I was able to give her what she wanted without forcing her to commit to plucking or waxing :) I hope this helped!

Tell her it will really help the makeup enhance her features and give her a more polished look. don't make her feel as though she looks bad now, just that she would look so much better if she got her brows done before prom makeup.

Concealer & brow gel will be your best friends! If she doesn't want any hairs tweezed, ask if you can comb the hairs up slightly and trim them. If she still says no, just do your best to conceal around the brow and fill them in. You definitely will need a brow gel to keep the unruly hairs down. Just remember, if her makeup isn't as sharp because of her brows, it isn't really your falt because she wouldn't let you fix them. Good luck!

I would go with Anupa's option! If you kept forcing her to do her brows, you might ruin your chance of keeping her as a client in the future.

Tell her that her makeup would look so much nicer if her brows were done. talk her into it lol.

The best thing to do in my opinion (been through that before) is to fill in a nice shape with brow powder or pencil and clean up with concealer that way the brows look more shapely without tweezing anything. It takes a good imagination and a steady head or a set of good stencils lol good luck I know it can be frustrating when you really want to "fix" it but they don't want you too.

Don't ask, tell her She needs it done. Tell her it helps to showcase the makeup she is paying for. Brows frame the face, and set the tone for the look.

Thank you ladies! These are all really great ideas! As much as I want to kidnap her and take her to my local Brow Bar, I know it's about what she wants for her prom night.
