Hey ladies!

Now I thought I would write this post as many many many people on here are constantly asking how to go blonde without too much damage.

Out of personal experience I will give you my advice (NOT PROFESSIONAL, just personal experience).

Ok so I started at very very very dark brown, almost black hair and it was in good condition and healthy. I recommend before going blonde, to get your hair healthy and strong.

PREP FOR GOING BLONDE:
I used a hair mask 1 time per week and left it in for 3-5 hours (hair mask: royal morrocan). I use morrocan oil every second day and I avoid heat and chemical styling products, such as root lifting sprays etc. I never brushed my hair went it was wet and I avoided right hair styles.

A FEW DAYS BEFORE GOING BLONDE: I didn't wash my hair for 3 days before going in and I didn't use any hair products including oils.

THE BIG DAY GOING BLONDE: (first attempt)

I went into the hairdresser and asked for a full head of foils. Let me just tell you, it was horrible and the hairdresser failed at creating what I asked for. She did big chunky foils and way too strong bleach (40v... Even on the roots which were already lighter).

Anyways she got my hair lighter.. Yes... But didn't do a good job and damaged my hair. I ended up getting 4 inches cut off because it was so damaged.

I WAITED 8 WEEKS before going back to A DIFFERENT hairdresser who was a lot more expensive but was 100% worth it.

Once again I did a hair mask every week and hair oil every second day with no heat or styling products.

SECOND ATTEMPT GOING BLONDE:

yay!! Success!! :D $500 later...

So I went in and was there from 10am to 2pm, so 4 hours ladies!
I showed her a picture and she did her best to reach my desired look.

I got a full head of blonde foils and had 10vol bleach on the roots down to about 3 inches and then 20v put on the middle and ends of my hair. It took about 2 hours just to put it all in my hair because she took very fine amounts in each foil and I have HEAPS of hair.

After that it sat in my hair and then was washed out section by section, according to which part was put in first and then was shampooed, conditioned and then had treatment put in. Treatment stayed in for 30 minutes then washed out.

At first my hair was a huge notty and unmanageable mess when it was first washed out. Then she put in another treatment called the miracle and OMG it was amazing.

And guess what!?!? It was dried and then yay!! I had blonde, STILL HEALTHY hair!! :D

So that's my hair story and feel free to ask any questions xxxxx

Wow beautiful hair! The first one seems very unprofessional but then again I would never ever spend $500! I'm glad you got what you payed for

I didn't pay $500 for the second one alone if that's what you're thinking! It was $500 for both. Which is still WAY TOO MUCH. I'm broke too... But have been saving for almost a year for it :)

I 100% had a debate with myself about doing it at home or not. But I was so scared of burning it off. So yeah.. Saved up all my dollars and finally got it done :)

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! And so is your hair. (; I'm just trying to go ombre and I'm at your second picture at 300$ Spent so far 😩 NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OMBRE and I'm not sure if I should continue getting my hair ombre'd by another hairdresser or just go back to natural?

@ Nikki D - aww thanks ❤️I love your hair in your profile pic!

I would say continue, because you WILL get there eventually :) I was going to give up after the first hairdresser because I was so disappointed but I am so happy that I went one more time. I actually typed in "best hairdressers in *your suburb*" and read heaps of reviews on each hairdressers and then the one I chose was the one with the best reviews and best before and after photos :) it really is worth the extra if you reach you're desired look.. You feel so great with new and beautiful hair 😊
