Hair growth is based on genetics, the health of you & your hair. so the only way to promote growth is to keep yourself & your hair in good health.
Do not just go taking pills (including biotin). You can end up with side effects serious enough to put you in the hospital. always ask your doctor first.
Some tips to promote growth:
get trims regularly (split ends will go higher up the longer you wait & then you'll have to cut off more hair)
drink a lot of water
use as little heat as possible
always use a heat protectant, I recommend It's a 10
don't brush your hair while it's wet
do hot oil treatments (I use coconut oil)
use a deep conditioner (I use Aussie 3 minute miracle)
use hair masks (store bought or diy)
try a leave in conditioner
keep in mind that there are no miracle products or methods. good luck in growing your hair! :)

Kat pretty much said it all! I really want to push the no taking biotin pills, your body receives enough of that through food, so you really shouldnt take those supplements when you don't need it, too much of anything can be bad(:

If you flip your head up side down before you go to bed for 4 ish minutes and massage your scalp is a trick I do! Do it when you wake up also. Don't use heat on your hair if you do. Pick a good shampoo and conditioner that helps hair growth and while you apply the shampoo massage your head too, don't put conditioner on your roots because it can clog your "root pores" and stunt growth :) hope this helped and wasn't confusing!

I second everything Kat said! And find a good deep conditioner for your hair to keep it from getting damaged and you should be good!

Most people say to get your hair trimmed every six weeks. don't. get it trimmed every 12-15 weeks. average hair grows about half an inch every month and when you get a trim they normally cut about an inch off.

This tip isn't exactly for growing your hair faster, rather how to maintain and style your hair when it's at that awkward phase but you don't need or want to cut it again. My suggestion is to get creative with bobby pins and hair ties, bows and clips, pigtails, French braids and mini buns! Also experiment with different parts and go nuts with gel and pomade. Of course, follow everything Jacqlyn said but I thought you might need some ideas to make it look good while growing out. Oh, and also get your "mullet" at the nape of your neck trimmed often!

I wrote "different parts" meaning how you part your hair - center part, zigzag, side (left or right), slant, no part!

Coconut oil! I have some coming in the mail any day now, and I heard it works amazing for hair growth. You buy it in a tub, and melt it is the microwave. When put on your roots, it is supposed to stimulate hair growth from the scalp. Try this out because its less expensive thatn anything else. And take vitamins containing "Biotin". This goes a long way for your hair your skin, and nails!
