Just wondering of anyone has tips on photographing their makeup... Especially eyeshadow work. I have a hard time getting good pics of my makeup to show others. Is my iphone 5 camera good enough? Any editing? Lighting?

Is the iPhone all you have? For me with the iPhone, indoor daylight and no flash capture colors really well. If you have a DSLR camera I can send a link to a super great how to for detailed makeup photos.

The iPhone 5 is a reasonable camera (the back not the front camera) as long as you know how to truly use it (I'm talking focus, HDR and etc). You need good lightings too, preferably natural lighting since it'll show the true colours.
The sun is free, and easy to work with.

Grab a mirror to reflect the sun onto your eyes and it won't appear so bright.

I suggest you get photoshop or any of the top ten photo apps that aren't social media on your phone as well and take the time to learn all the tools to improve your photo such as saturation, vibrancy, tint, shadows and highlightings.

Ok!! Makeup geek aka Marlena posted an article about how to take great pictures with a dslr. This seriously helped me because she explained it in "dummy" terms haha. I never knew how the heck to use my dslr and this little article changed that. Good luck!! If you get some good pics do share them with us!:)
