I heard you can, but I have very dark brown hair and I tried lemon juice and peroxide (not together) to try to dye my hair. It didn't work AT ALL! You could try it! Just make sure you sit in the sun with it and you do a deep conditioning treatment when you are done! Hope I helped.

It depends on your hair, it doesn't work for everyone but just give it a try.

If you're dead set on lightening your hair it's probably best to just bleach it (Professionally would be best) as it will give you the best result.

Alyx T., one of the other members on here has often said that it's probably better as the "natural" remedies that avoid bleaching can be more damaging and give a brassy and uneven result.

You should try manzanilla chamomile shampoo :) its supposed to be a natural lightener..

I wouldn't. anything to naturally lighten hair is best for already light hair. with dark hair it'll just be orange-y, brassy, & unevenly lightened.

Personally, if I had practically black hair and wanted to lighten, I wouldn't even attempt in trying it. Like Kat said, it'll turn an ugly orange and it'll be brassy. Not only is it a waste of money, but, you'll end up with you healthy hair.
I would suggest going a few shades lighter, like a chocolate brown. Then, in the future get some blonde highlights.
Don't just bleach you're hair all at once, bleach is like the hair enemy, it'll ruin it! Hope I helped a little!
