Microlink extensions virgin! Tips?

I received my extensions today and plan on getting started right away. Any tips? Should I straighten my hair before I apply them? Should my hair be clean or unwashed?

If your hair and the hair ext. are two different patterns you should do your hair so that when you apply the ext. it looks natural. Example your hair is straight and if the ex. is straight thats fine but if curly you would have to curly parts of your hair depending on how the ext. are applied and yes wash your hair. I hope you understand everything and what I'm saying.
