I'm currently not buying any makeup until I drop 20 pounds.. it's been a long few weeks.
I have a bunch of makeup I hardly ever use but feel like I'm stuck using the same few products
what inspires you to start using the goodies you forgot about? or to get out of your routine and change up your look?

I found the best thing I've ever done is reorganise my collection. I bought a bunch of muji drawers (clear acrylic drawers) and a acrylic lipstick organiser.
By organising all my products together (all bases in one drawer, eyeliners in another, blushes in another, etc...) I find I'm more likely to switch up my look as I'll look at stuff and go "Oh I fancy using that today" or "My skin's quite good today I'll just wear tinted moisturiser"
Definitely think it's worth organising everything so it's all easy to see and grouped together.

Every once in a while I'll swatch all the makeup I don't really use.

I tend to get inspired when I do that because the colors are near each other and start to pair them for new looks.

I agree with Crystal (:
pull out all the makeup you don't really use anymore. make sure they're still good to use & haven't expired. I sometimes swatch them or just leave them in a pile. it's just good to see them all together. that way you can see the colours of everything & see what works together & brainstorm some new looks :p

Start looking for new makeup looks that you haven't done before that you do using your current products. I also start using my products in new ways. I have lipstick that I never wear but recently found out the it looks great if I swipe it on my cheeks like a cream blush. I also have some eyeshadows that I don't really use cause they're a bit to colorful for my taste and I really like using them as eyeliners.

How about asking someone to pick a random product for you out of your collection (maybe a different one every day if you're feeling it) and having to use that product in that days look?
