Hey ladies so I've had my tongue pierced for about a year now , and I'm over it. I rarely have the ring on, and I've been wanting it to close. I spent almost a whole month without it on, and it never closed. But now I really need it closed. Do ya have any tips on how I can get it to close fast?

The only thing that'll fully close it is time. If you've had it out for a month, it's definitely partially closed. You may always have a dent. Mouth piercings (especially the tongue) close the fastest. The hole in the tongue can close in as little as 4 hours without jewelry in it. Why do you need it closed? It's not like people are going to notice your tongue lol

I went a month with out it and I was curious if it was still open or not and I put the ring in it and if was open lol. But I just want it gone and the dentist just told me it needs to close down lol

If there is scar tissue, it may never fully close. But that is unlikely unless you had it pierced and repierced several times.
Like the others said, just give it time. Don't keep trying to put jewelry in, because that will force it open again. Let it do it's thing; the mouth heals quickly so you shouldn't be waiting too long.

It might not close but then again it could. I leave my belly ring out a lot and it doesn't close but when I've had my lip pierced it closed and I've had it pierced multiple time in the same spot. There was scar tissue but it still kept growin up. Wait about a month month and a half and if it's atleast not starting to close up it most likely won't

I used to have a vertical Labret piercing, I had it for about a year. I took it out 2 years ago and it still hasn't closed up, I've tried lots of things and nothing has worked, I agree that only time will close it unfortunately :(

Why don't you talk to you piercer?

Different piercings sometimes don't close.

Oh I see... Well sadly I don't think it will close because it's a muscle & once you rip it, it's hard to go back... But there is a possibility that the scar tissue can build up & close it... I can try asking my piercer for you if you want?
