Hey everyone,
I might dye my hair upcoming monday. I'm planning om going just a few shades darker than my natural color, which is dark blonde. I have never dyed my hair before, and since I have a photoshoot the day after, I really don't wanna mess anything up. :/
So, do you think a darker shade would suit me? And since I'm doing it myself, do you have any tips? How big is the chance that I'll screw up?

Can you show a pic of your hair?

How light is your hair already? My only advice if you're doing it yourself would be to buy a good quality dye, personally the Loreal preference line is pretty good. Make sure you apply it evenly, start with the rest of your hair first before the roots.

I think a darker shade would look nice (: not to dark though! & I honestly recommend getting it professionally done to prevent mess ups.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking up some hair dye reviews that's for sure haha. But other than the color maybe not suiting me that well, what could go wrong?

I think it would suit you.
Just make sure you listen to the instructions. Going over the time can wreck your hair. That's why a lot of girls say get it professionally done. But I never did when I first dyed my hair. As long as your confident you'll do it right and do the research I think you'll do fine :)

Some tips for dying your hair at home that I do are,
🔹I apply petroleum jelly around my hair line to avoid the dye getting on my skin
🔹 as well I pick up these little wipes you can get at Sally's for cheap that also take the dye of your skin
🔹 I like to part my hair with lots of hair elastics and slowly do part by part to assure I cover my whole head
🔹I like to wrap a bag around my head afterwards so I don't get messy waiting to wash it out (also heard the heat of it helps but I don't know)
I hope some of these help you! :)

If you have a lot of hair you might want to pick up two boxes. Now that I am coloring my own hair at home, my hair sty.

Stylist suggested I do that because I have a lot of hair. If you don't go too dark you should be fine.I will add most dyes seem to come out darker Especially at first so keep that in mind.
