Which eyeliner to purchase?

So I've been searching for the perfect eyeliner and have had no luck whatsoever. I have tried liquid, gel and pencil but with my extremely oily eyelids they all smudge! Can anyone recommend any eyeliners that have good staying power and are easy to put on? Preferably anything under $25, thank you :)

Out of curiosity, do you use a primer? or any kind of base on your eyes? That can make a world of difference, when dealing with eyeliners. I happen to like the Urban Decay Primer Potion, but because you have very oily lids I'd recommend the Too Faced Shadow Insurance or the Nars Pro Prime =)

As for eyeliners, the Urban Decay pencils are my absolute favorite, I have every color they've ever made and they're just so great and long lasting that I could probably be perfectly happy never using anything else.

Another great option would be the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon, which is perfect and stays on my waterline absolutely all day. It comes in really pretty colors that you can't go wrong with, and they don't smudge or move around either.

Last, but certainly not least, Kat Von D. She has two great options, both of which I love. The Tattoo liner is utterly indelible, it won't smear, smudge or flake throughout the day which is wonderful. The other is her Lightning liner, I have the shade Poe but it comes in a few more shades that are all just as gorgeous. And, bonus, the packaging is absolutely fabulous! It has a twisty end like the Stila Lip Glazes, so you don't end up with more product than you need and it doesn't dry out.

I completely agree with Hannah (as always lol)! Primers make such a difference. I like UD Primer Potion, Too Faced, and Milani. As for eyeliners, Kat Von D is great for liquid and extremely to use for liquid (every other liquid liner I have tried has not ended well because of difficult application) and for pencils I really like L'Oreal Infalliable and Sephora Waterproof Twist Up liner is great too and not much more expensive than L'Oreal's. Also something that always helps me a ton is once you are done with eyemakeup, get some setting powder and dust a some with little brush just right under your liner (on bottom of eyelid) to help 'set' your eyemakeup and it really does make a difference in it looking and lasting great.

I also agree with Hannah about the primer idea but not the Urban Decay one. That one does absolutely nothing for my oily lids. I think the same thing for the too faced one. The NARS one should work. I usually use MAC pro longwear concealer or NARS. Those two are great for oily lids.
Lastly, the KVD liquid liner and Marc Jacobs liners are great!

I love the Stila stay all day liquid eye liner and for pencil Rimmel Scandaleyes is great and very cheap. I actually like them even better than urban decay.

Hannah is spot on, primer can help even if you arent going to use eyeshadow. My favorites are the Urban Decay pencils, Kat Von D pencils, Smashbox Always Sharp pencils and Clinique quickliners. The UD and the KVD ones are ones you actually sharpen and the Smashbox and Clinique ones are the roll up ones. All of them are great and have slightly different textures. But they are all long wearing, don't smudge and come in a lot of cool colors.

The Smashbox ones are really cool because they literally are always sharp because the cap sharpens it every time you twist the pencil back in. It's really neat! :)

The pixie silky pencil eyeliner will stay all day on me, and not budge, even without a primer. If I prime, I can get away with Rimmel Scandaleyes or Almay, icolor intense liners, which are both really cheap. I bought a Rimmel Scandaleyes liner for $2 the other day. I have very oily lids, by the way....
