My Lipstick is Migrating! 😧

Hello! I love wearing lipstick to school and I usually wear a shade from Mac. My only issue is after about an hour or two of wear, the color moves, or "migrates" if you will 😂, to the edges of my mouth and looks like a thick lip liner. I don't know if this is just the lipsticks I'm using, or something else. Is there any way I can stop this, other than reapplication? Any suggestions would be great. I'm thinking some kind or primer, but I don't know

The picture is a little rough, but you can kind of see

Thanks!

What is your routine when wearing lipstick? Do you just apply the colour and then go out?
I suggest: exfoliating your lips beforehand. Using a lip primer to help it stay on longer. Use a lip liner to line your lips and fill in your entire lip before applying lipstick. You can also buy one of those clear lip primer pens from Elf for like $2 and line the outside of your lips which prevents bleeding. Also after you apply lipstick remember to blot with some tissue and then reapply. After a day of talking and eating/drinking your lipstick won't look perfect and will need some reapplication.

Everything Shauna said.

Also I believe Makeup Forever makes a lipstick sealant, but they are pretty pricey. I think with lip liner you'll find that they last a lot longer and you won't need to invest in a sealer. You can even change the color of your lipstick by using different colors liners underneath. :)

What's happening is that the lipstick wears out closest to the mouth, where there is moisture, oils from food, etc. Two stage long-wearing lipsticks come with a sealant, like the one above, but even those will turn to a ring eventually. A liner will work like a stain and at least keep some pigment in the inner part of the mouth so the effect isn't so noticeable. I've just resigned myself to redoing my lips pretty frequently since I can't stand the way most lip liners tug at my lip.

Lipstick sealer does the job and you can get it by kiss or any other brand at any store some are as low as $2 :-)

Definitely wear lip liner and then apply lip stick and make sure you check to make sure it doesn't smudge.

I normally use dry lipsticks like the ones in Victoria Jacksons survival kit and until then I used to have this problem.

I think you should use a lip liner because it will keep the lipstick from 'bleeding'.

I use lip liner all over then a gloss over, it keeps the color from bleeding onto your skin and tends to stay longer.
