My skin gets oily several hours into my make up, and yet underneath my make up I have splotches of extraordinarily dry skin that won't moisturize no matter what I do.

I would invest in a gentle, hydrating exfoliant like Philosophy's microdelivery wash. This removes dry skin flakes, but is still gentle and shouldn't dry you out. Then, I would moisturize using CeraVe. Again, gentle and effective..not greasy in the least. In the evening, you can apply Jojoba oil to any dry areas. It is delightful! Are you using a primer?

Oily skin can one be dehydrated causing flaky skin or two be a form a seborrheic dermatitis, which a dermatologist would have to tell you , try not to use harsh products , a gentle cleanser at night like cerave hydrating cleanser a gel or salicylic acid cleanser in the daytime no harsh exfoliating try using Latic acid in place of scrubs and alcohol free toner, moisturize with cerave moisturizer

Rozberry can you recommend another moisturiser for the same problem that would be available in UK drugstores? The exfoliant is but not the moisturiser :(

Try repechage's honey almond scrub. It works wonders. I'm an esthetician :)

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense! I just recommended this in another thread lol. It's a gel but it's pure hydration. They also have a richer more creamier formula but I prefer the gel. It's super light but very hydrating. It's great for oily skin because it's so light and fresh and won't clog pores. But it is intensely hydrating. Just ask for the pink gel moisturizer lol.

I suffer from the same thing. (but then again I am a walking problem) anyway! I use cetaphil gentle cleansing bar as a facial soap to use anytime I need I which is usually in the morning and at night. That is my only regular Facial cleanser Now, what I have found is that by using a primer before putting on makeup (I use anyone I find at Sephora) my skin seems to stay moist but not extremely oily. The primer not only keeps the makeup on but it keeps my skin hydrated all day. It works for me so maybe you can give it a try.
