So I have this problem. I love colored lipstick. Fuchsia, bright red, coral. They're awesome. However I always find myself migrating to nude and slightly pinkish nudes.
Why?
Because when I put on bright colors my lips look like they've deflated! Is this something I'm doing wrong?

@shyla not sure if you'd be interested or not, but I recently bought some cute lip plumping tools from a seller on Etsy. They are called "Liptifuls"
It works as a suction and plumps up lips and makes them appear fuller. I'll post a couple pictures

It's probably in your head honestly, you know you have thin lips so the bold colors just bring much more attention to your lips of course, and you probably see it worse than what it really is :)

They are pretty awesome, they make different sizes & shapes for different purposes.
The "lip" shape one is for plumping the top lip.. And the strawberry is a size small made for plumping both lips at the same time :) they make lots of colors & designs. Range from $20-$40 :)

Yes it's actually true that darker colors will make your lips look thinner and nude and pinks will make them more fuller looking a makeup artist stated it! But I'm pretty sure if you lip line and all of that, it should help a bit.

It could just be the shape of your lips, I have fairly reasonable sized lips and I find they look bigger with any shade of lipstick.

@Beth those look adorable and giggle worthy. I can see my boyfriend laughing at me as I do my hair with one of those on my lips XD. Thanks everyone for the responses. I might try overlining them just a tad when wearing brighter colors.

@shyla your lips are far from thin lol if that's what's considered thin then mine would be too but they're not :P
Bright colors just set a hard line on where your lips stop and start so it can sometimes make it look smaller tho the effect varies with different people
