I would like to know whether I have a "cool" skintone or a "warm" skintone. I'd say I have light/medium Olive skin and green eyes (someone told me that automatically means warm... but that doesn't make sense to me) Here's a pic of my wrist because I heard you need to look at your viens to be able to tell? Please help :)

Blue veins=cool
blue & green=neutral
green=warm

Kat is correct :) Based on the picture, I would say your undertone is more warm, although, your vein color might look a little bit different in person. If they appear more green in person, then you are definitely warm toned. By the way, that person is wrong, as you had thought; eye color has nothing to do with whether you are warm toned or cool toned. Hope this helped!

Thanks guys. My viens definitely look green in sunlight other than that you could go back and forth forever about whether they are more blue or more green. So I'll go with warm I guess :)

I'd also like to give a few more methods of telling =)

1. what shade of jewelry looks best on you? silver generally means cool toned, gold means warm toned and if you can pull off both, you're probably neutral.

2. in the sun, do you burn or do you tan? burning generally indicates a cool toned complexion, tanning generally indicates a warm tone. HOWEVER, with this one there is a bit of wiggle room.

3. Which do you look better in, bright white or off-white? Bright white is an indicator of a cool skintone, since most often ladies with warm skin tones can make bright white look TOO bright. I've included a photo so you can see what I mean about this; the girl on the left is cool toned, in bright white, and the girl on the right is warm toned, in a cream shade.

I, myself, for example: have both blue and green veins, I tan more than I burn, silver jewelry looks best on me, as does bright white. for that reason, I have a neutral skintone that pulls a bit cool.

I may have to reevaluate my undertone too then 😳

I tan easily, and look much better in off white, but I also feel like my viens look both blue and green. I feel like silver jewelry looks better so... Idk maybe I am neutral but pull towards the warm side?

That's entirely possible =) The thing about skin tones is that they're unique, just like people. It's all about what works for you, and personally, I think that as long as you have a foundation that matches, and as long as you know what colors you like and look good on you, why does your skin tone matter so much, you know?

I meant to say both silver and gold look good, but I think silver looks better lol

Yes, I know what you meant =) I also can wear both gold and silver jewelry, I just don't particularly like gold, because I do think that silver looks much better.

Wow that's such a huge help! I never realized how much of a "cool tone" I am, but everything matches so well. I burn so easily (which I thought was because I'm Welsh), silver looks best on me as does bright white. Thank you for the clarification oh and the simple fact that my veins are bluer than blue lol!

Do you look at just the veins on your wrist? Do you worry about the ones about halfway up your forearm or does that matter? I always get confused because my veins on my wrist are blue and the look possibly greenish higher up my arm. I prefer gold, but silver looks good too :/
