So a day or two ago, I posted a topic asking about tragus piercings. Scince then, I've changed my mind and decided to get a helix piercing instead (for many reasons I won't go into). I still plan on getting a tragus piercing, but later.
So, about helix piercings.
Does anyone have one?
How high on your lobe is it?
Where on your lobe is it? Like, is it further forward or back or what.
How do you wear it? I was thinking cute little silver animal studs, galaxy studs, cute little things like that, but I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance! :D

I *had* one but it grew over. It was right at the peak of my ear. You keep saying lobe but I think you mean cartilage? Because that's where a helix is.

Yeah, but isn't the cartilage the tough stuff inside? And the lobe is the edge of your ear or something? I dunno. But yeah, I mean the cartilage. Did you want it to grow over?

This is about where the average helix is. But mine was where the purple dot is. No I didn't want it to grow over but I got it done at Claire's, they used a gun, and shattered my cartilage so it refused to heal and it grew over. So get it done with a needle.

I guess it is part of the lobe lol. I just always called it the cartilage. haha

No it's still cartilage, the lobe is just the fleshy part at the bottom.

I don't have a helix myself but I'm considering one. Definitely take Bry's advice and get it done with a needle, it's a lot more precise and safer.

I have my helix on my right ear. It's in-between tragus height and the top of my ear if that makes sense? I got it pierced with a needle which didn't hurt but the healing process was awful. It swelled a lot because I kept hitting it so it took almost a year to become pain free. I've had it for two years now and I currently have a ring in it which has helped a lot with the swelling. I love it but I would really recommend being extra cautious while it's healing because it's very easy to knock which can really hurt. Overall though it was worth it 😊

Like Bry, I got mine done twice at Claires but because they use a gun it damaged my cartilage and I got this huge lump that wouldn't go and was so painful that I couldn't sleep on it. So I do too recommend getting it done with a needle! I'm going to mine done but going to a tattooist/piercers this time!

Haha thank you all! I was planning on getting it done with a needle having looked into both options so don't worry about that :) If I post a few pictures could you tell me which placement you prefer please? I can't decide!

Of course! I know there are so many placements

What do you think??

I personally like either the 1st or 2nd one the best.

Isn't a helix piercing on the outer flap (the helix)? All of those pictures are orbital piercings (on the orbit).
