I have oily skin and the only primer that has worked for me is Too Faced Primed & Poreless

No matter what products you use, make sure you are applying moisturizer twice a day. Oily skin will keep overcompensating the more you try to get rid of the oil. If you replace the oil with a good clean moisturizer, your skin over time will acclimate and produce less oil. Coming from someone who had to change pillowcases because they got too oily from just sleeping on them. If you train your skin, your makeup will better cooperate.

Best advice from a fellow overly sebaceous woman-

-find a skin are regimen that works for you. I make sure to exfoliate at least three times a week with a gentle exfoliator. I definitely recommend looking into The Body Shop's Seaweed line.. It's made for oily skin and they carry every product you would need. A clean simple moisturizer applied after you wash morning/night will balance out the bad moisture you're over compensating for.

-find a light, buildable foundation that works for you. I use UD Naked in 3.0 right now and I love it.. It's unlike any foundao

I have ever used. If you aren't comfortable with liquid on your face, opt for a powder foundation. Benefit Hello Flawless is so wonderful and full coverage.
-set liquid makeup!!!! I suggest a loose powder applied with a large powder brush.. Compacts cake and apply too heavy I've realized.
-upkeep during the day. Carry blotting sheets all of the time. Elf has cheap cheap sheets. I blot all of the time.

There are many products that say they help oily skin.. But that's your body chemistry! Upkeep during the day and a trustworthy skin regimen will answer most of your oily skin woes!

What's your skincare routine? What foundation are you using? Are you using a primer underneath?

You need to make sure you're using like with like. If your moisturizer is water-based, your primer (if you use one) and foundation need to be, too. If silicone-based, everything else should be silicone-based.

In terms of skincare, this may sound counterproductive, but something you could try is the Oil Cleansing Method. I know of oily-skinned women who swear by it.

first you need a good primer try hourglass mineral veil or any mattifying primer then you might want to try a mineral foundation I like the one from cover fx and you should try deslick setting spray from urban decay to set your makeup

I've heard milk of magnesia works wonders for oily skin when used as a primer. I haven't really tried it myself but I've read numerous reviews on the internet including here on beautylish! Watch here: http://www.beautylish.com/v/ymicni/a-beauty-secret-matte-shine-free-skin-all-day

Good luck! :)

It might just be the food you are eating, stay away from deep fried foods & any fried food, drink lots of water, stay away from soda & sugary drinks. Work out at least 5 times a week, eat fruits & veggies everyday. Stay away from stress, and use a moisturizer that is oil free. We can't control how our skin is, but we can minimize it making healthy choices :-)

Nothing astringent (if it worked, they'd lose a customer, right? ;), oil cleanse, take it easy on foundation.

I've got used oily skin too, but oil cleansing has helped balance it out. I do that twice a week. I still put on moisturizer day and night. I set my liquid makeup (rimmel stay matte) with Ben Nye banana powder. a great primer is Nurturing Force's Blot Out Offensive sold at camerareadycosmetics.com

I would say changing your moisturizer, Dermalogica has an amazing moisturizer for extreme oily skin called Active Moist. You'll definitely notice the difference from the first time you apply it. Plus a little goes a long way. Also I recommend using Urban Decay's De Slick Products like the setting spray, mattifying gel or powder :)
